Deke is the one role player I pray is re-signed by Morey, the guy is just the ultimate team man and makes watching Rockets ball all the more enjoyable.

    Get it done management.

Maybe Keyon Dooling is a better choice.

if the rockets get splitter, they could use the full mle on a pg.

Dikembe has a hospital to run, he needs the money. My guess it that there is a limit to how high the market for him goes, and the Rockets would be willing to pay a reasonable market rate to get him back.

Unless, that is, some desperate team throws crazy money at Deke... then it's goodbye and best wishes.

AFAIK it should be Wamutombo (instead of another Mutombo) at the end.

Maybe he thinks one more season and he can top Olajuwon in the record books?

Deke definitely deserves to retire a Rocket. Hopefully with a ring on his finger.

I love what he is doing this year, but I want to hold off on signing him until the off season to see how the roster is shaping out.

If he does come back, can we get him to wear elbow pads?

The article is wrong. His last name is "Wamutombo" not "Mutombo". :)

He would have to get 615 more blocks, for an average of around 5.5 blocks per game starting with the end of this season. I would love to see him make a push for that record, but I seriously doubt that Mutombo holds any illusions about being able to make it.

I would cry if we lost Mutombo not only has he been a great locker room guy but he is someone everyone can look up to as a person. I feel lucky that we have several guys we can consider role models on our team.

    Yao
    Tmac
    Deke
    JHoward
    SBattier

to start with.. what a great group of guys.

best case scenario we sign Deke for one more year and then offer him a position within the organization like broadcasting or as an asst. coach (ala Ward). LOL

can you imagine Deke doing the play by play.

Rah rah rah rauh - swish Rah rah ruh ruh rah! Yao & Tmac ! hehe

Mutombo could be a Rocket for another season if he is willing to play for the Vets minimum.I hope he retires as a champion Rocket.
I know nothing about the locker room.
