funny story..... Yesterday, I had some friends and my brother over for the all-star game. We ordered pizza from a weird place and were watching the game. The topic of 300 came up and of course all of us started with the: "this is madness" "no this is SPARTA!" We are going back and forth with the screaming (yes we were bored). Anyways its been an hour and we still haven't recieved the freakin pizza. We start calling this place up and asking where the hell is our pizza?!?!?! I was freakin hungry! I dared my friend to call up the pizza place and scream "This is madness!" right away. He calls up and goes "This is madness!!!!!!! Where is our PIZZA?????" Pretty much scared the hell out of the dude answering and our pizza got to us a min later (hopefully it was loogie free). Ahhh....good times!
You might be confusing the directors w/ Frank Miller, the creator of both the Sin City and 300 comic books. As far as I know different directors for the movies. Nonetheless, you know the source material is good. The trailers do look awesome. I read something briefly, supposedly some of the scenes look so different and unique because some of the backgrounds are cgi or something. But I guess Sin City had that quality too.
Robert Rodriguez directed Sin City. He actually tried to get Frank Miller's name on the credits as co-director but the guild wouldn't allow it so he resigned. Zack Snyder is the director of 300.
Ah, that explains it. I was wondering why they don't advertise the movie as 'Frank Miller's 300'. They did that w/ Sin City. Meaning the movie poster reads 'Frank Miller's Sin City' for all the slow people.
Not that I know anything about Frank Miller, but I just saw the trailer and it looks awesome. I just might like this one since I know I have to go see it. It looks cool. Can anybody give me an idea of what its about besides just saying Sparta?
Damnit....my sister is getting married and my son is the ring bearer. Oh well, it's not like she's ever on time anyway. Gonna try to catch the 5:00 opening night show!!!
It got a standing ovation at the Berlin Film Festival. Frank Miller co-directed Sin City because the comic was basically used as the story boards, but he was also on set every day to work with Rodriguez and even giving notes to the actors. On 300, he's an executive producer and a consultant. The movie posters say "From the Creator of Sin City" and the trailers say "Based on the Graphic Novel by Frank Miller" at the end.
