C'mon it was creative, but it wasn't that spectacular -- on top of that his first dunk was pretty weak.
possibly hoping for a better resolution video than youtube. Pun, other thread, this forum, I gotcha covered
Listening to Kobe present made me think I was listening to Quitter Jordan. The way KB pedals back after a shot, and the way he extends to shoot is all MJ. Whenever he dribbles, it's like he also takes the same steps MJ does... it IS creepy. I thought I was the only one noticing this. Oh, and by the way, the settling detail is that I hate both. EDIT: Another thing... whenever KB complains to the referees, his mannerisms and ways of asking things from refs by calling them by first names sounds JUST LIKE mj.
Green's 2nd Dunk (SpinCam: Gerald Green Dunk #2) Watch Gerald Green's second dunk in the Sprite Slam Dunk contest during All-Star Weekend with SpinCam Technology http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.p...sx&video=blank&tab=allstarchannel&nbasite=nba Dunk Contest Highlights http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.p...sx&video=blank&tab=allstarchannel&nbasite=nba
The Dunk itself wasn't that spectacular, but the fact that he nearly reached to the top of the backboard is pretty amazing. It was my understanding that some of the criteria they were being judged on was creativity, and showmanship. Maybe I am giving too much weight to that aspect of the contest, but I think the only way it is going to continue to be interesting is if the creativity and showmanship are encouraged, because at the end of the day there are only so many ways to put the ball in the hole. I agree that his first dunk was nothing spectacular. But I figured like Magic was saying he just wanted something solid to get him off the ground and in the competition. I think second dunk should have taken him past Nate Robinson to at least get into the finals. I think Green would have still won.
IMO the only good dunks were Gerald Green off the side of the backboard, Green's Dee Brown over Nate, Dwight's sticker, and Nate's off the ground to himself. I think the contests are getting more boring for people because the creativity is being lost because so many of the dunks have been done. They have to start using more props and stuff.
WHO IS THE BEST? No joke. I didn't know if his lips were real or not. They looked painted on or something. This is starting to repulse me a bit. lol. NBA and Wayne Newton are not a good mix.
The camera needs to pull back out a bit because this is the worst job of lip sync'ing I've ever seen. LOL.
even in all-star introductions tim duncan is the most boring player alive. he practically looked asleep. we need to get rid of the raptors or annex toronto or something so we don't have to do O Canada at games like these. no offense to the song or canada, but it's just one more thing to get in the way of the start of the game. plus it's not nearly as cool as the Star Spangled Banner.
Man, what was the NBA thinking? I was like this isn't real is it? Wayne Newton playing orange blossom special on a fiddle no less. WTF?????
Seeing as how they're in Vegas, I'm kind of surprised they didn't get Celine Dion to sing "Oh Canada".
