It was disgusting how Many Mavs fans were there. There were times when their cheers were wayyyyyyyyyyyy louder than Rockets cheer. That is sad. I cheered so much my voice is hoarse today :(

I was thinking this too. I was working last night on an EMS shift, and watched the game in between calls. And I was thinking they need to STFU during the free throws. Go watch some College BB, to see when to chant. LOL.

I'll never forget a home game in the playoffs when TMac was shooting some free throws. There was some type of chant going on and Mike James was standing at half court waving his arms telling everyone to stfu!

I agree with an earlier poster. Keep it quiet when TMac is shooting the free throws. Sure make the chant, but find a better time to do it.

FWIW, we (Rowdies) started the MVP chant and then stfu when he got to the line. Unfortunately, the rest of the crowd kept chanting.

kobe gets the mvp chant at the line in pretty much every 4 quarter/down the stretch moment and he seems to sink them..

i guess they are just different. t mac also doesn't get accused of sexual assault

Everybody does it when they are shooting free throws...we did it for Hakeem...people do it for KObe and they hit their free throws....dont make excuses for a guy missing free throws...

no they don't. They might do it when he is walking up to the line, but as he shoots it they be quiet. It's done the same way in college as well. And I never said it excuses him from missing the FT's. But it's an idiotic practice because there are plenty of better times for you to chant it.

And for the home team fans to not understand this is flat mind boggling. You should be doing anything to help your team gain an advantage, not something that could be a distraction regardless of your tired excuse he is a millionaire paid to hit those, who cares what we chant as he is shooting the foul shot.

i think its better when he is handling the ball but its always nice to hear people saying mvp for you..maybe it was the mvp chants that got him fired up and that may be one of the reason that he was pissed because he wanted to win the game for the fans who shout mvp for him.just a guess but if people shout mvp mvp for me i would try my hardest not to disappoint them..and he sank big shots after if i'm correct right? he seems to be so animated and i think that is the mvp chants and he didn't want to disappoint his supporters and that is why he was so pissed after the game

Watching in TV it seemed there was a lot of Dallas fans at Toyota Center. I thought they were shouting MVP for Dirk.

Oh please, these guys shoot freethrows with noise or not. They've been playing ball for years, and you think a chant is throwing them off?

    Seriously...

An MVP makes free throws when fans chant "MVP!" Since he's not making his free throws, he's not an MVP, so there should be no chants.

    :p

Ha ha this is a funny thread. Let's all do the tilted body thing like they do in college games. Except that the crowd would be split down the middle where each side is leaning towards the goal as to provide T-Mac a site down the center mark for shooting.
