Only truth stands at last. You can't blame that dude too much for what he said. He is a dumbass, but he is a dumbass with *some* insight. Rockets, and Tmac, have yet to prove that they can actually win a playoff series.

He's ever liked yao ming. i dont know why? maybe cuz he's from china and nobody expects a 7'6 guy to be good....especially if he's out of china. It's not only charles either. it seems like everyone wanted yao ming to fail, and now that they see that he's pretty damn good, they dont want to admit it. i think charles has an ego. actually, i know he has an ego. he will never admit he was wrong about yao ming, therefore he'll never pick the rockets. same goes for that idiot from fox sports who hates JVG. he'll never write anything postive about the rockets. he writes about the rockets when we lose (without yao), but not after we beat them by 31 at home with Yao...some people are just afraid to admit that they were wrong. i think thats whats up with charles. he didnt pick them at the beginning, so he wont pick them at the end.

the fact that we didn't have yao has to count for something. we have no inside game at all. all of our points come from the perimeter. that fact that we were up 9 is impressive. they dont even mention that. i guarantee if dirk didn't play that game and we had yao....they would say something like "the mavericks won without their mvp candidate dirk nowitski" i realize there is not reward for staying close to the best team in the nba (record wise) without yao ming. but it doesnt even get mentioned that the rockets are not at full strength. for some reason to them this is the same team you'll see in march/april

Charles was just simply an idiot, but deep inside his head he knows we got a shot against on any team.

I am pretty sure come playoff time if we have Yao and Tracy ready, the only team that can beat us is ourselves. We've proven that we can beat San Antonio with just one All-Star. We've proven that we can beat Utah. We've pretty much hung in two (maybe even three) of the games against Dallas. The only test we haven't had success against is Phoenix.

If both our stars are healthy for the playoffs and Wells and Snyder can contribute good minutes, I don't see how we CAN'T survive in the playoffs. No team in the West sans maybe Phoenix can hang with us in a seven game series.

I can't believe what Charles just said. Lakers just lost their 5th game ina row, and Chuck downplayed it by saying Lakers cannot be judged because Odom is not 100%. Meanwhile he trashes Rockets while completely failing to mention Yao is still injured. He really hates us, he just does

you kno thats pretty funny to be honest. I mean I remember even Larry Bird saying that it was an insult to have a white guy guarding you. A tall dude from China is pretty much an anomolie Barkley would have been insulted if he was playing Yao........until Yao schools his ass

He thinks coaches of these teams are better than JVG. But he couldn't say it. Playoff is all about coach and key palyers. I think Rafer and Luther's gonna suck big time in playoff.

It still amazes me how much hate we get from everyone EVERYDAY. We're always getting put down and left out of the elite. What is it about us that they do not like? I'm just gonna assume it's because they don't like our slow-it-down and gritty defense.

This is the only thing I don't like about Charles Barkley, he's one of the major Rockets hater (even though he played for us) and Yao-trasher. Other than that, he's one of the funniest man alive.

And I'm sure that Kenny, Ernie, and Reggie (a.k.a Larry, Moe, and Shemp) said nothing to rebutt his comments.

    *Sigh*

Rockets will gain respect from the media if they win a playoff series. They haven't yet. They have to prove themselves in the playoffs.

That is actually good to hear it come out of his mouth. You know, he seldom be right, which means Rockets will beat them at playoff with great chance.

Some of you guys must not have watched Barkley for the last 20 years. No big deal. He's a great entertainer, but most people shouldn't take statements like this to heart. His statements about Bavetta are another prime example of taking Charles bold statements as entertainment versus getting all huffy and puffy...

I like Charles Barkley as a player but ever since he's retired he just keeps bashing the Rockets. He's losing my respect.

Even better than a bet...let's all chip in and buy him a replica championship ring when these new Rockets finally reach the promise land.

There is a reason why Charles was never in it in 93. Michael wanted it more than he did.

Actually I am very glad that Barkley looked down Rockets, since I remember at the beginning of the season, he said something like Clippers could make the finals this year. Since he has always been proved wrong, I am very pleased he is against us for another time. :D

Barkley's right though. we CANT beat dallas or the suns right now. they are huge mismatch problems for us. Spurs are still good we'd have a tough time with them and Utah is a great team as well. Yao back will help but in the end it relies on your bench. we need someone else besides yao and tmac to step up.

It is difficult for us to beat them without Yao.
