Jesus. I had an issue at court. Considering you don't even know what I was actually doing states that you're not one to speak up on anything. For a lot of people (including most at the courthouse) we were unaware about the new change. For anyone trying to reset an arraignment date, it's good knowledge to know. Most people wouldn't expect a reset to take longer than the actual court date. It used to take 5-10 minutes.
No doubt. For the record, I have no problem with this. If you're guilty, take the measures given to you to reduce the penalty such as defensive driving or pay the damn fine. If you're not guilty, request a court date and go on with it. Don't whine about the mayor if you have to spend three hours because you weren't compliant with the law.
lol, like no one else on this board knows about your habitual court dates, tendency to imbibe in alcohol, and knowledge of fajitas. Keep these threads coming - they brighten my day.
Unbelievable. Yeah, you're right. Trying to make people aware of a courthouse issue was bringing it on myself. Trying to find out how we could locate an ip from craigslist was, also. Honestly, let it go, dude. I've about had it with a few of y'all in the past couple days.
Traffic laws these days are 99% about generating revenue and 1% about keeping people safe. Like the new-ish double indemnity law that the ****ing ***** in Austin like to call the 'Driver Responsibility Program'. You know, where if you let your insurance lapse and you get pulled over you end up paying $260 a year (at minimum), every year, for three years. And this is after you've already paid the ticket.
Hells yeah. You know how much people b**** about property tax increases? Harder to complain about traffic tickets and cigarette taxes. The simple solution is to fire half of all government employees, and 75 percent of all the government managers, and then increase wages 50 percent. If those left can't handle the increased workload, plenty of others will line up to do it for less money. This is why I can never run for public office.
the other solution is stop speeding and stop smoking. i'm thinking we might wanna try that before we start cutting govt services and firing people.
If everybody quit smoking and speeding, then they'd have to raise taxes somewhere else. Really, revenues from smoking taxes are already dropping: http://www.examiner.com/a-559719~Money_from_smokes__Less_ash_means_less_cash_for_states.html
