It seems like restaurants have managed to screw my orders up quite a bit recently, but instead of ranting about those I thought I'd start a positive thread about places with good customer service (any type of restaurant (including fast food). Might as well give some attention to the places that seem to do things the right way... I'll start out by saying as far as fast food Chick-fil-A is a place I've always had good service. La Hacienda is a restaurant that I've always had good service at as well (fast refills, etc). Feel free to add any to the list, I might be willing to try some new places if there are some places people talk about their great service.
I think if you are expecting great service in inexpensive or fast food places, you'll probably be disappointed. Of course, most places I go to aren't very expensive, so I expect the worst. I get great service at Barnaby's on Shepherd. Request Cassie. She's terrific.
jeff... haha, well expensive places are okay as well for the list. I'm not expecting GREAT service, as far as fast food places... it is nice to at least get all the items you order in the bag and nothing left out...
In Houston, I've had many great experiences at Goode Co. BBQ and BurgerTex. I've ALWAYS had great service at Taste of Texas, too. If you're ever in Pittsburgh, and you want great food, awesome dessert, and incredible service, check out Gullifty's -- they have the best service I've ever had at a restaurant.
So true. EVERY SINGLE time I have been there, starting from the host to the valet guy to the dozen of meat carriers and the servers, every single employee is polite and attentive. This past weekend I went to Americas with my family. Ordered my steak medium well and it came out very well. Told the server once and they brought out another steak. I felt guilty even telling them since it was $50, but eh....
I think the only place worth mentioning that I've been too more than a couple of times is Cheesecake Factory in the Galleria. Friendly people and they make sure to always refill that chocolate bread.
That is a place I need to try, I've heard it mentioned a few times... planning on checking it out sometime.
Sambuca is another place I've had good service at when I've gone (but I've only been to the Nashville location).
I can't afford to go anywhere expensive to get their great service, so most of the places I go are in the vein of Chuy's, BW3, Chili's, Katz's, etc and what usually happens is once we find a good waiter/waitress we request them the next time we go. 9 times out of 10 though the service sucks.
I've never been to a restauarant where I got great service every single time. Even the best waiters and waitresses have bad nights. Interestingly enough, I get better service from the big chain restaurants like Casa Ole, Olive Garden, etc., rather than locally owned restaurants...
Man, I really need to save up some money, starve myself all week and go to Fogo de Chao...I've heard such great stuff about that place.
Yeah, not every time is going to be perfect, but there are some places that seem to have good service more often than others. I realize that mistakes are going to happen (and that isn't a big deal, not everything is going to be perfect).
but it is nice if those mistakes don't happen on a regular basis where it seems you often have the order messed up I also find it helpful to ask for a waiter/waitress that you've had before... you know they are good and assuming you tip well they probably know you are a good customer, etc.
