The Portland is stupid enough to believe that they can buy the championship with money, which is not going to happen. They are not good enough to beat the Spurs and the Lakers, Pippen will get humiliated by Kobe and Sabonis by Shag as usual. Expect another playoff swept this year. Anyway you guys are used to it. Falling apart in the playoff is the trademark of the Blazers, don't get an heart attack when Pimpen turned the balll over disgustingly in the last seconds, and Steve Smith continues his .27% shooting in the playoff. YOU GUYS GET TWO BEAT UP AND WORN OUT COMPLEMENTARY PLAYERS WITH THE HEFTIEST PRICE TAG IN PIPPEN AND STEVE SMITH! Pippen is an inferior product compared to Grant Hill and Abdur Rahim, we were happy to get out of his inflated contract, believe it or not. Above all, Portland is wasting the talent in Brian Grant, Rasheed Wallace, Jermaine Oneal, Detlef Shrimp and Greg Anthony. They are fighting over for playing time. Unless Portland trade quantity for quality--namely trade Wallace and Grant for, say Tim Duncan. They are just a paper tiger.
Math, Interesting points, however I must disagree. Assuming what you are saying is fact about Snottie wanting Hakeem traded, who in hell does he think he is? Hakeem is a cornerstone to this franchise. He helped us get to the promised land. Barkley, for whatever one might say about him, played his heart out and kept us in the hunt pretty much every year he was here. So Snottie thinks he should be able to come in here and have Dream traded? LMAO! Yes, it's true that Snottie was third banana behind Dream and Sir Charles...but that's the way it should have been. Unlike Dream and Charles, His Airless didn't prove anything of merit during his stay here. Sorry, but this has me poed all over again. The nerve of that guy! pippen had a great all around game? hmm doesn't seem like he's worth 14 mil come on. you are stuck with his sorry self for 5 more years. by 2001 he will be averaging 7 pts a game and making 17 mil
THE SAD THING IS I THINK LIL PIP REALLY LIKED HOUSTON. HE ADMITTED IT WAS JUST A LITTLE PLEA TO GET TO LA THATS WHY HE MADE THE REMARKS. BUT HE SURE NEVER SAID HE LIKED PORTLAND BETTER THAN HOUSTON
BlastOff, I agree that The dream was DA MAN in Houston during those 2 champ. days. But he has really struggled now days due to his leg injuries. Scottie is right about Hakeem has lost his game. It tough decision. But I really think that if you guys had Kev Willis, T-MAC, and Scottie in your line up, you guys would have better record than what you guys have now.
and i'm sure ya'll portland fans are still upset about clyde. 33 who is the best player to ever playi for the blazers? if you say quitten that that is pathetic
MATH, If there ARE more stories than I heard from the media, enlighten me, because the three you just quoted WERE reported frequently. "With all the disappointment, Scottie expressed his interest playing for LA behind media." - what a joke! The whole situation started when the story of Pippen "demanding a trade" broke in the media. Who do you think broke it? It sure as hell wasn't Charles Barkley or anyone associated with the Rocket's front office.
Primetime, No player in the NBA worth of what they getting paid. They are all over paid. For playing bball, these guys should get paid no more than $1000 a week. So if Scottie is getting $16MIL per season, let him. It does not cost you a dime. No matter how Scottie does on the floor he does fill the seats in the arena. I don't see your team become full house every home games in this season. Oh my, the compeq center was full house when Pippen visited. So, you see. Weather u like him or hate him, he does bring people. And People want to see Scottie Pippen play. So even if the blazers are not the best team during the season, the rose guarden will have sell out crowd for all of their home games. That's why P. Allen does not have problem paying what ever amount to Pippen.
Portland has no future. I dont think Brian Grant will sign with the blazers. And all the blazers are left with is wallace and a sorry pg Stoduamire.
Francis3, who needs future? Today is the future. No one and nothing can guarantee the future. And you certainly cannot dictate the future of the blazers
"The whole situation started when the story of Pippen "demanding a trade" broke in the media. Who do you think broke it? It sure as hell wasn't Charles Barkley or anyone associated with the Rocket's front office." Hey Davo I completely disagree with what you said above, Scottie never started sh*t, It was the Rockets who were shopping Pippen in the first place (G Rice/Horry 4 Pip) This is what started it. I totally agree with Math. Also just as a fact if any y'all read the sports illustrated with Pip in it, it clearly stated that Pippen told charles that he wanted a trade, and Jason Kidd confirmed that Pip said this. Pip was pissed off that barkley went to the media and lied. All Scottie Pippen did was stand up for himself. As for the Cash he deserves every penny he was sorrily payed when with the bulls, 2.25 mill a year, he is getting his past dues. Again I agree with Math No player lives up to the money they make it is impossible you think Kevin Garnetts game is worth 20+ mill a season, the guy is a great player but no player in the nba can ever live up to their price tag. I think everyone on the site, should just get over Quitten, the site should be 100% Quitten Free!!. ------------------ "Lamar Odom, Elton Brand, Wally Szczerbiak and Shawn Marion are guys who are going out to score. That's not my job on this team right now. But if I needed to, if my coach asked me to go out and score 30, I can get it in one quarter" -- Steve Francis. Somebody has been blowing smoke screens up in Portland. I can't believe these guys can't understand what we keep telling them about Pippen. Hey, they will find out by experience. The only way they will not find out by experience is if the other guys on the Trail Blazers keep being the go to guys. The minute anyone expects Pippen to be the go to guy (and Dunleavy already admits he isn't and has Pippen for other role) is the only way they will see his true character. We don't have to defend ourselves to these Pippen idealists. Houston, our fans, our coaches and traditionally our players (less Pippen) have class and Portland will never understand what that means. Let them learn the hard way like they did with Rider. As far as sellouts, only this season has Houston stopped having sellouts every game. We didn't sell out to see Pippen cus we love him, only cus we wanted to express our disdain for him, our hate for him. I can't wait for January 18th when we play the Trail Blazers at home again and it will be on TNT. We will show the country what we think of Pippen as the booing will be just as loud or louder. As far as Pippen having a good game the other night, he really didn't have that good a game. If it weren't for those two wide open shots in the 4th, he would have been 3 for 12 with 8 points. His rebounds and assists were about his average weren't they. Points ended up about his average. He didn't like the booing guys. Keep it up as long as he is in this league, I hope. No one else will expose him to the NBA world. We can enlighten them in the only way we can. PIPPEN sucks. These Trail Blazer fans are trying to lay blame on us for booing him, but they are the weak ones. They are tired of hearing it. Why should we make them happy? Not me. Pippen sucks, especially his character.
I think the Rockets should join up with the Red Cross and trade every person on the Rockets to the Blazers and pay donated charity funds just to get Brian Grant out of Portland. The man deserves so much better than those sorry Portland ass-lickers . [This message has been edited by fromobile (edited December 23, 1999).]
33, you must be smoking some of the best stuff money can buy. How did Poopen have his usual great all-around game? 13 points... doesn't he get paid 16 million? Do the math kid and you'll see he ain't worth what he gets paid. Rebounds and assists are the same as what he got last year. So tell me this: how were we wrong about that crying little hoe? Does he fit beautifully into the Portland system? Is he tearing up the league? Is your team the best in the west? Reply to that after you take your foot out of your mouth. Why don't you make like Poopen and get the hell out of ClutchCity. ------------------ I'll miss you Charles.
33 and Math, tell me this: you keep jockin' Poopen right now, but what will you have to say if things don't go as expected? If you don't even get out of the west, then what? Your team isn't exactly built for the future. The future is now? Man, you must be some myopic fans because you do not have the most talent, you do not have the best player, and you're team has a few key players that are not exactly young. How does that add up to this supposed great team you think you have. The hell with Poopen. We don't sell out because we have Bullard as our most veteran Rocket. Injuries have hit us hard and some fans find it difficult to get into the games when they don't recognize the players. I'm watching every game, but that's just how I am. I back my boys and my city. Portland will not win a title any time soon because MJ is not there to carry your aging, overpaid, whining superstar. When I called Poopen overpaid I refer to him being touted as a superstar. I know he got screwed over in Chicago, granted, but can he carry a team on his back? Has he ever shown that ability consistently throughout his career when MJ was out of bball? He sure as hell didn't do in Houston. We know that whiner better than you do so just sit back, relax, roll up a 3rd or 4th seed and prepare to get punked in the playoffs. And do you want to know what the worst part is... its not going to get any better for you because his sorry as will only get older. Mark my words. ------------------ I'll miss you Charles.
This is all totally stupid. Why are ya'll even adding to this idiots fire. The only reason he came here was to get a reaction and that is exactly what he got. Let it go and close the thread. ------------------ There is no offense without a good defense.
33, The Blazers were great before they had Pippen and would still be just as good without him. Pippen does not make a team that much better. He is just a role player that can't carry a team on any given night. I am glad the Rockets traded this roach away and I would have traded that Ardvark even if he didnt make those foolish comments. I have always hated Pippen even when he was with the Rockets. I always hated him and I was so excited when they got rid of him.
The Pimp is right. Rockets fans will be vindicated when the Blazers are "Pippened" during the playoffs.
