I don't know why it is so hard to figure this thing out. . Steven Hunter makes since. He is an athletic big that the Rockets could send their trade exception, or the trade exception plus a second round pick to get this guy. He is young and at the has a reasonable contract that won’t hurt us with the cap. He makes $3.06 million this year which is under the $3.68 the Rockets need to stay under.

Philli right now is not going anywhere and by their draft position, would be either the first or second pick. This would get them under the cap, which would save them money. I don’t see Hunter and Dalembert being their long term solution, when they are both the same type of player.

Come on CD get it done!!!! This will only ad help for Dek and Howard so they wouldn’t have to play so many minutes going into the second part of the season. Mark my words, if they don’t get these guys help, they will wear down during the last part of the season and into the playoffs. See 04’-05’ Rockets for references.

That isn't actually a bad idea, but someone like Chucky Atkins would fill our needs much more. We need a backup point guard, once Yao gets back we are filled up at Center/PF (Yao, Deke, JHo, Hayes <-- Plenty + occasionally Novak). In reality all you need is that, those guys take up most to all minutes.

hold on, I just remembered there is this guy called "Yao Ming" or something like that, and he plays for the Rockets!!! he is 7'6 and he plays the center position. I also read that he is about to get healthy and he will be ready by March! isn't it crazy?

no offense, but are you r****ded? why in the hell would you trade for a freakin scrub like Hunter when you have Deke and JHO backing up Yao and Chuck at the 4? Yao will come back and play at least 36 minutes a game, I am sure Deke can handle 12 minutes wont you say? we really dont need a big guy right now especially now that Yao is almost back.

common sense is really useful sometimes, think before you post an idiotic trade proposal. our priority right now is a back up PG, not a big guy.

think...

at PF/C, we dont need a backup... we need a really good one can replace our current threes(which r all very decent players), or we need none.

Steven Hunter isnt what we need. He seems to me a another Swift Stromiles with less talent. Very inconsistent.

Steven Hunter.... I thought he was turning a new leaf from those "missed dunk, missed layup" days when he started for the 76ers. I went ahead and caught a couple games from him, and I noticed something interesting. His rebounds have to be within 1 foot of his jump for him to EVEr get it. His rebounding numbers are misleading, at best. He started 13 games for the 76ers and averaged 6 rebounds a game, which seems decent, except that guy does NOT box out and has Stromile Swift syndrome.

Did i mention he's shooting 48% from the FT line? So basically, even if he fixed his rebounding situation and gives you a nice rebound in crucial times, he'll get fouled and have a horrible chance of making the FTs.

That guy plays like he's lost and he never seems to be in the game. He's a "defensive specialist" in the old days and his defense is all from his length. He does NOT move laterally and does not box out his man. That is not the type of player you would want in your team; someone that could only get Yao into more foul trouble.

1 word: NO

Tmac despises him. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He might play a few minutes a night, but as a major minute guy, forget it. He makes way more money than CHuck and he's not a better player than Chuck.

If you think he's bad with the Sixers, you should have watched him in Orlando when he played with Tmac. He and Pat Burke cost Tmac and the Magic an upset of the Detroit Pistons in the playoffs. He doesn't have any basketball instincts. He's not a basketball player, he's just a decent athlete.

No, the Bulls are not stupid enough to give up on a rookie that was the 4th overall pick, no matter that he made a stupid comment, he hasn't sinked to Eddie Griffin status yet.

I can't believe people are overlooking our obviously undersized team and pulling for an undersized overaged chucky atkins.

youth and size = steven hunter.

OK...lay off the guy and think before you post such elementary criticism. For one who promotes himself as seemingly basketball intelligent by the way you attempt to demean enthusiastic Rockets fans, you have sure failed to originate criticism that reflects such. In aase you have forgotten, Tim Duncan attempted to opinionate on the league's dress code calling it r****ded and he was killed by the media...we usually stop using phrases like that when we are like 9 years old.

As for the issue at hand, Hunter really isn't all that bad a pickup if it only costs us 3 mill and change. He is a big body with decent experience under his belt, and he would be great to give J-How or Deke a breather without having to give up size by going to Hayes...Novak looks about about as lost on the court as you do refering to others' posts as "r****ded".

If a need at the backup point were such common sense and easy to make happen, we would probably have already done something about it. You say Atkins?
Would you say this miracle acquisition of Atkins would help us? Why would Memphis want to do this? What real motivation do they have for helping a team in their own division? Some say to clear space for a possible sale of the franchise, but come on man...3 mill is almost negligable in terms of salary dumpoffs.

I say get whoever you can for the trade exception because at least it will give you more options.

You have no idea what you're asking for. Hunter is terrible. Steve Nash has a way of making terrible players appear servicable. Coincidentally Hunter hasn't looked servicable since his time in Phoenix.
