Last night I heard Worrell say that the Rockets, without Yao thus far, have been overachieving, and that the Rockets would get down to earth soon(don't know what our "earth" is). Do you think our success is just a result of a hot streak? Or do you really think we are this good.

The Rockets are what they are. With or without Yao they beat most teams, most of the time but they don't beat all teams, all of the time.

I never take anything that comes out of Worrell's mouth seriously. He talks funny anyways.

I definitely agree. We have outcoached, outplayed, outhustled, outsmarted opponents with similar talent and in a couple of cases we have beat teams with better talent like Utah, Spurs, Chicago.

Let's be real. We are missing half of our team. This team is Yao, Tmac and outside shooters.

That's why you have to be even more impressed with what they have done.

Funny how people start panicking after one loss to the best team in the NBA in their building without Yao...

And I don't see how they have been overachieving. They have a very good team. And when we get Yao back we will have a great team.

Remember we beat Dallas early in the year WITH Yao....

We have overachieved to a point. When Yao went down I thought the season was over. They've managed to hold the ship together thus far, but last night was a slap to the face. I hope Yao was watching and took note. This team needs him.

I would actually say we are overachieving. I mean, cmon. How many people when Yao went down saw us even making the playoffs? Then McGrady decides to show up to the game for once and we start winning. This time last year we were losing to Orlando.

My biggest issue with that is it seems like every time we lose a game to a good team like Dallas Bill reverts to the damn we're short-handed when we've been getting it done most of the year. I don't think we've over achieved. This is really the second year we've had Tracy for the majority of a season. I think its more riding the brilliance of him than anything else. But teams like Dallas that are just stacked really expose us and turn games into a scoring marathon.

It's like what Bull said last night. I don't care how great your defense is there’s no substitute for scoring.

I don’t think we’ve over achieved considering T-mac is on our team. Usually he’s enough to get by.

    Either no

    Yao
    T-Mac
    Bonzi

    or

    Snyder

Both you and Luffy1 are *extremely* annoying and bring nothing to each thread you post. You hate... just to hate. Ridiculous.

You seem to just post to see how people react. As for the Rockets, they have been playing awsome. So far they have only REALLY had only 2 awful games. I think we are just fine, and really like the team we have.

    Line up at full strength

    Yao - C
    Hayes/Howard - PF
    Battier - SF
    T-Mac - SG
    Alston - PG

    Wells - SF/SG
    Head - SG/PG
    Snyder - SG
    Mutombo - C
    -------------------
    Lucas III - PG
    V - Span - SG

If you look at the top half of the bench we could easily have a 9 - 10 man rotation.

I don't think they have over acheived, but for the most part they have played to their capacity, with a few exceptions, the Denver and New Orleans games.

Obviously, I was talking about overachieving with all the injuries considered.

Overachieving is just another name for hard work. Take it as a high compliment.

Over-achieving? I dont think so. The Rockets are under-achieving. Since the season has started, the Rockets' W% is consistently .1 below its Expected W% (Pythagorean). The Rockets' W% is currently .633 but its Expected W% is .723 (according to knickerblogger.net).

In the top 5 teams, only the Jazz and the Mavs are over-achieving. The Spurs and the Rockets are under-achieving. The Suns are about right.

Wow I get pulled into threads I'm not even a part of. I don't hate blindly. I only hate things that are counter productive to the rockets championship chances.
