very tough fight, against the #1 team and at their home court, i wish we can win but a loss is acceptable, just be fair to our players as Yao is not back yet

We beat them during their 0-4 start, so I don't know what to make of that win.

But if the Rockets can win in Dallas where the Mavs have won 16 in a row and do it without Yao, that's enough to vault them into the top tier of contenders regardless of their record.

Right now they're in the 2nd tier with the likes of Utah and the Fakers.

This is only one game. All I ask is they compete til the very end, and i will be proud of this team. As long as we dont look ahead, or let one game define our season we will be fine.

I agree. This is just one game of many more to come. It won't crown us champions or banish us to the cellar.

I'm anxious about the game, but I think there's a good chance that our team (this very special team that's leaps and bounds ahead of last year's) will nut up and suprise many people the same way they did agains the Jazz, Spurs, Lakers, etc. and win this game. They are no longer saying they hope to be competitive without they're number 1 guy, they are comfortable going into battle with the squad they have now and they know they can win!

    Rockets win 92:89

I agree we can't let them get open 3's this game, but without Deke in, if they go "small" it's hard for us to out-rebound them because of Dirk, Howard, and George. If we had Yao, we could make them pay for going small by pounding it inside on offense. However, Deke not being an offensive force means it's easier for them to make us change our strategy by taking advantage of his uncomfortable-ness playing D away from the basket.

Bonzi or Snyder could guard George or whoever is shooting the 3, but Hayes or JHo alone fighting Dirk for rebounds could get ugly. We'll need a team rebounding effort because they are much bigger than us without Deke in. TMac and Battier will need to get their share of boards for us to win.

They will, and we win 92-91.

The biggest factor why we blew them out the 1st time we met with the mavs was because rafer played his best basketball game of his career. If he can match maybe 75% of what he did we have a really really good chance of winning... Also Dampier possibly wont play dued to injuries! Man, we could sure use yao to abuse them w/o dampier.. Honestly, I think we have a good chance to beat them, but this team is REALLY good at defending the 3's... So i think bonzi/ jho / tmac really needs to attack the rim so that will start opening up looks for rafer/head/battier... God i wished we had yao

Obviously guys the key to winning the game is who flops the most.. I say Dirk has his greatest Flop (Whine Like a Bi%@) night and that seals the win for the Mavs... :D

Mavs have tied a franchise record with 16 wins in a row in Dallas.

Will be a tough one for the Rockets.

Dampier didn't play Wednesday due to a bum knee. Dirk went off against Memphis: 37 min, 38 points, 14-20 FG, 2-2 3's, 8-9 FT, 10 rebs, 6 ast, 3 stls, 4 blks, 0 turnovers. If you have Dirk on your fantasy hoops team you're loving that line.
