I remember this slightly differenly. Tex forced the trade since Big E was "uncoachable". Back then, coaches could get away with trading their best player, versus nowadays when players can have coaches fired. By far, the worst Rockets' trade ever. The owner should have fired the coach when approached with this trade.
leebigez I remember that very very sad day. I cant believe your the only one to mention the Moses Malone trade. It was my very first sad sports trade, and to this day my only one. All my sports heroes have stayed at home, short of Hakeem, but I wasnt all that sad. I believe it was Red Aurbach who once said of Moses. "I believe he misses shots up close just to get the rebound and the put back" in speaking of his dominance on the offensive boards.
THE WORST TRADE IN ROCKETS HISTORY WAS NOT TRADING FOR ME WHEN I WAS PLAYING WITH THE CLIPPERS AND MISSED ENTIRE SEASONS WITH MY FOOT INJURIES!! IF THE ROCKETS HAD ANY SENSE THEY WOULD HAVE PICKED ME UP EVEN THOUGH I WAS HURT BECAUSE JUST MY PRESENCE AND NAME BEING ON THE ROSTER WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH FOR THEM TO WIN SEVERAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND BECOME A DYNASTY! INSTEAD THEY WAITED TO GET HAKKEM WHO IS NOWHERE CLOSE OF BEING MY EQUAL. REMEMBER: NOT ONLY AM I THE GREATEST SPORTS ANNOUNCER AND BBS POSTER OF ALL-TIME BUT I'M ALSO THE GREATEST CENTER OF ALL-TIME! I GOT THE ROCKETS BACK FOR THIS IN '86 WHEN ME AND LARRY LEGEND TOPPLED THE TWIN TOWERS!!
