I agree, McGrady is a cancer. He just does not bring it. My ideal package would be something like: McGrady for Steve Francis Cuttino Mobley Kelvin Cato you'd have some scoring pizzaz, so perimeter depth, so frontcourt size... seriously. Yao / Cato / Mutombo Howard / Cato / Battier Wells / Battier / Snyder Mobely / Snyder / Head Francis / Alston / JL3 / Spanoulis I think that team would be VERY tough in the playoffs.
Then why bring it up ? How is talking about him not possibly being a leader or about the possibility of him having more back problems for giggles?? Sorry, but your post probably didnt make anyone laugh. Also, please dont complain about whining, as you are the biggest whiner on the board. Theres always something you have a problem with.
I don't whine, I critique....the whiners are the one's who complain about others critiquing. Big difference. DD
I hope that the Rockets would not be led by anyone who would want to win at all costs! The game must be won or lost within the limits of certain criteria, namely NBA RULES and Regulations. A great leader also would know how to loose gracefully.
He was being sarcastic, unless he is actually the old GM of the Magic. Guys, if you don't like a thread, why bother posting in it? Just ignore it. DD
The only player worth even brining up in this hypothetical question is Lebron James and it would work out both ways for the Rockets and James himself, Rockets get someone that is alot younger then Tmac without any injury problems and James will get to play alongside an all star in Yao. He is the only player worth mentioning in this.
The only person I would think about trading him for is the new and improved Kobe! LeBron = Is not as dominant as ESPN hypes him up to be. He disappears way to often and I just don't think he can carry the team is Yao is having a bad night. Just something about him tells me he is not on the same level as T-Mac and KB24. I do love his passing ability and unselfishness, although sometimes his unselfishness is the cause of his downfall since he passes up the last shot at times. Nash = Not with this squad! Yao can't keep up with him and we don't have the finishers that the Suns have. We have spot-up shooters. He ALSO has a bad back so no thank you. Arenas = His is the old Kobe! Don't think him and Yao would match-up since Arenas dominates the ball. Melo = Same as Arenas only with 1/4 the intelligence. Wade = Maybe. Not sure about this one. It would be a toss-up with me leaning more towards T-Mac b/c of Mac's range. KG = Maybe. Don't know if having two low block players is too smart. SO KB24 ONLY!
I would package him with Scott Padgett (for salary matching purposes) and trade them to Chicago for Tyrus Thomas, Chris Duhon, Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, and Andres Nocioni.
other than ride prime shaq's coattails. what has kobe done to distinguish himself as "the guy" on his team from t-mac's years as "the guy" on his team? t-mac: lead the league in scoring - check lose a 3-1 lead to a much higher seed in the first round of the playoffs - check kobe lead the league in scoring - check lose a 3-1 lead to a much higher seed in the first round of the playoffs - check even this year the rockets have a better record without yao than kobe and the lakers. basically the only valid reason you can come up with is a better future health prognosis and winning 3 rings with shaq. but he's done nothing to show that he can take a team and carry them on his back out of the first round, more over to a championship. wade has done it though.
I would trade him for any superstar that was younger: DWade, Lebron, Melo. etc... I would not trade him for any superstar that was older: Nash, Garnett, Duncan, etc...
The reason I wouldn't even consider trading Mac: He has little trade value right now due to his recent injuries. His actual value that we get from him playing is most likely higher than his trade value. Gotta keep him.
Stupid thread...but since I am here, the only swingman in the league I would trade for is D-Wade; anything else would either: 1) not 'gel' with a Yao-centric offense, 2) be a lateral move where you gain nothing, and/or 3) actually hurt this team's ability to win it all in the short term (next couple of seasons).
TMac is supermegastar, the only trade I will consider is Tmac for DWade + Shaq. Shaq as Yao's backup for two years.
D-Wade has as much range as I do! So no thank you. Plus, he lacks T-Mac/Kobe's court vision. He is a talented player, but you don't trade a T-Mac or Kobe for him. He needs to show me more than just the ESPN highlights and phantom fouls. If you think at this stage in their careers that Wade is a better player than Kobe, I suggest you stop watching this fantasy league that is going on in your head and pay attention to the actual season. Plain and Simply: Kobe is a better shooter than Wade. Kobe has more range than Wade. Kobe can attack the basket as good as Wade. Kobe plays better D than Wade. Kobe has better court vision than Wade. Kobe is a MONSTER when he gets pissed off! Now I ask you, what does Wade have over Kobe that makes him so great?
