Just a wanted to know who has filed yet or even recieved their refund check yet from the IRS. How did you file or who did you use? I recieved my refund today and used the free version of turbo tax from the IRS website. I had it direct deposited and filed electronically which I think shaves off like 10 days. Anyways..... Tim
I filed last with using TaxActOnline, but returns with an educator deduction are not being accepted until tomorrow.
Sent mine in yesterday, and I used TurboTax Deluxe. My form was too complicated to e-file for free. I use direct deposit every year. It's going to be my biggest refund yet, and I'm excited.
I just got my last W2 in the mail yesterday, so I'm probably going to do them this weekend. I've got HELLA deductions this year. I was good at saving receipts!
I'm new to this stuff. I just received my W2 forms. What am I supposed to do? I could just give the stubs to my parents and let the accountant do all the work. They only have my last pay check earnings summary listed and they gave me 4 of the same statements. Please help!
You get 4 copies: 1. To file with your Federal return (if you mail it in) 2. To file with your State return (if you have State income tax) 3. To file with your local return (if you have that) 4. For your records Being your first time (and assuming you still live at home), it should be a simple return to fill out. Simply search for a free online filing service (e.g. taxact). It should be fairly easy and evident to do online. If you want to prepare prior to going online, go to www.irs.gov and pull up the 1040EZ form. Print it out, fill in the numbers and you should get a good idea of what to expect when you fill it out for real online.
So Im a full time student at Houston Baptist and got this 1098-T form from the school. I am e-filing through H&R block and cant find a place to submit this info into. Do i need to even sumbut this info. Does anyone know if it will affect my return at all? I appreicate the help guys. Im just sorta new at this thing.
Thanks a lot. I actually don't live at home, I'm still a student. I did put down 0 for dependents for both my jobs so am expecting to get all my general withholdings back. That's usually how it works, right?
Although you don't live at home, I suspect your parents can still claim you as a deduction, which doesn't mean much to you (but means a few thousand to your parents!). Unless you made more money than I suspect a part time working student would make, you should get all of your federal tax back.
