I'm getting info for this thread from a variety of sources. Just check out some of the usual sites basically. Nintendo Nintendo made 4M Wiis by the end of 2006 like they planned, but only 3.19M of them were sold/shipped (the rest were still in transit/unsold/sitting in warehouse(s)/whatever). Breakdown is like this: Japan 1,140,000 NA 1,250,000 Other 800,000 Their forecasts for the end of the FY have not changed (6M by the end). ~1.4M systems have connected to the Internet and ~1.5M Virtual Console games have been downloaded and sold to customers (both as of 1/24). DS sales are at ~35.6M LTD, about half of which are DSL (~17M). Nintendo's profits are currently at ~$1.1B during the FY (they met their goal of $1B 3 months early IIRC). Microsoft As mentioned in a previous thread, the 360 has sold (or shipped if you prefer) 10.4M systems. 4.4M were sold in the last quarter. The division had record revenue of $12.5B for the quarter, although they still posted a loss of ~$289M due to expenses from Xbox 360 marketing, repair and an increased warranty period...not to mention the Zune launch. They reduced their FY forecasts for the 360 to 12M instead of 13M-15M. IOW, they expect to sell 1.6M systems in 6 months since "there is a reasonable amount of inventory in the channel."
I'll help you spice up your thread. Direct link to retailers Wii stock!!! http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/howToGetItTab.do?c=1&zip=77064&oid=165227 http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-9771842-6767009?ie=UTF8&asin=B0009VXBAQ Good luck!
Thanks for the info RC Cola. I always read your threads, but never post. I'm not a big gamer myself, but I do own a modded 360 and PS3. Believe it or not, I actually use alot of this game data for my work purposes. I work in the stock market, and some other people I know( technology analysts) closely follow alot of this data as well. Its gives me somewhat of an edge to have the inside scoop on alot of these systems(Microsoft, Sony, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD etc..) from hardcore gamers as opposed to people who don't really play the systems but write columns for newspapers. I'm always on message boards trying to find an edge for my work. Other companies and boards I follow include the Netflix, Blockbuster, and some Dell, HP boards.
