He's fallen out of favor with Coach Hill and doesn't start anymore. His minutes and production have taken a huge hit plus he just signed a contract extension so the Sonics might be looking to move him due to the disappointment. The catch is he's a Poison Pill contract, making his contract very difficult to move. The question I pose to everyone (especially the capologists) is can you think of a decent trade idea involving Ridnour that works for both sides to make Ridnour a Rocket? I know Ridnour is a shameful defender but he's a very efficient shooter and scorer that really knows how to handle and protect the ball. What he lacks defensively he can make up for with his automatic shooting, decision making and ability to handle the ball. Ridnour is basically a poor man's Steve Nash. Any thoughts?
That's probably the case but you would think they could still do that without demoting their starter they just gave an extension too, right? Baqui99 -- You really think JVG wouldn't play him? He's light years better than "John John" and who knows if V-Span will ever get to play.
the last time the rockets got a scoring guard who couldn't defend (derek anderson) yao had trouble with fouls.
i read from a sonics newspaper that they need a SF who can create offense *cough* Bonzi *cough* yea Bonzi Wells is the perfect match for them because they have absolutely no post game.... however... Sonics are about to rebuild so it doesnt make sense for them to take on a headcase (but only for 1/2 year)
I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis tries to make a play for Ridnour seeing as how Memphis is trying to transition into a Phoenix type running team.
The just drafted Lowry and have DStoud for 3 more years and Bird Rights for Atkins. They would have to do other moves, I don't see it. Personally I'd take Ridnour, Atkins or DS for the right price (the TE for the last 2, Ridnour for anything reasonable (not touching the core 3) that works including a #1 pick). Earl Watson has the same jumper problem Rafer has, maybe worse, wouldn't really help us.
