Jason Kidd is heavily old, and overpaid, we need Andre Miller, who can pass, shoot, take it in, and not make stupid mental mistakes in a real game.
he'll make it one out of every three times he shoots it i guess? small, small price to pay for possibly the best decision maker in league history. to say the good far outweighs the bad with him is quite the understatement.
he is better than rafer by far, however is it worth paying that much for somebody that really won't fit in this offense?
Stoud would not be in to replace Rafer, but to help him. Stoud is a far superior back-up PG than JL3 or VSpan at this point. Rafer gets 26 MPG, DS gets 22 MPG. Rafer stays fresher and we get much more productive back-up minutes. I really think we try to land DS or Atkins near the trade deadline. Right now they are splitting Memphis's PG minutes, but with Lowry there is no room for the 3 of them next year. I think a small trade for a veteran PG to split time with Rafer is only move we need to make. Our bigs are doing OK right now not even having Yao, it is our guards that need a infusion.
Exactly!!!!!! Kidd can help wit rebounding, assists , and lower turnovers. Imagine Kidd being the playmaker ....where does that leave Tmac??? Answer: see the 04-05 season
You're definitely misinformed. He's a very good rebounder, and can score int he post. If he was in great shape, he could put up the above-mentioned numbers... But he won't get into shape halfway through a season. I definitely would contact him early in the summer though and try to sign him on the condition that he commits to getting in the best shape possible.
You can not sign someone with a condition they get in great shape. NBA money is guaranteed so there is no motivation beyond wanting to be a great player, which if he hasnt gotten in shape by now, I doubt he will change. Maybe the Rox will sign me on the condition I grow 2 feet by next fall. That would give me four inches on Yao.
Im pretty sure Kidd makes more then Nash so why not go after him. Same reason we dont go after Kidd cuz it aint gonna happen. Who are we gonna give up to get him. You can not afford three max players and hope to have anyone decent around them. Unless Yao or Tmac goes in order to get Jkidd, it aint happening, and it better not be happening.
kidd is an automatic triple double! just imagine, what is the rockets record everytime a player scored a triple double for them?
really? acquiring kidd is just as hard as acquiring nash? and by the way, right now we have 2 max players without anybody decent around them. 3 seems better.
hahaha... people saying what we really need is Andre Miller/Jason Kidd/Wilcox/Pau Gasol ... yeah, and what I really want is KG + Wade or Brand + Arenas ... while keeping Yao and T-Mac, tell me how to make it happen what I'm saying is trade Sura's contract (or TE) for a vet. pg like Damon Stoudmire (or maybe Atkins or Watson) to split min. with Rafer. if anyone don't think that will help the team they don't know the game. I say we don't really need Bonzi because he's a 2/3 swing man and we have T-Mac/Battier/Luther/Snyder/V-Span/Novak who are playing or need pt at the 2/3 spots. if we can get a vet. pg to back up Rafer, Luther then can play his nature position at 2 and we still have Snyder at the back up 3; V-Span and Novak also gets afew of Wells minutes to develop their games; we got an extra big body (with potential) for insurance. why not?
If you think the rockets don't need bonzi wells to win the title, you are crazy. The guy is easily capable of chipping in 10-15 pts per game come playoff time, and outside of t-mac, is one of the few rockets able to create his own shot.
Completely agree. Very much disagree. Bonzi by far our 3rd best natural scorer. He also is an excellent rebounder and defender of big guards. We should not discard Bonzi from our plans easiliy--I am looking forward to a time we can put SB, Tmac, Bonzi and Head in the 4-3-2-1 around Yao (pretty seemless and switching smothering perimeter D to face the likes of the Suns, Mavs, smaller Spurs group and force of a half court offense as well). I would rather see Head play the 1 but get help in ball handling than have Head play the 2 where we can get outsized at multiple positions (SG, PF, etc).
I like how this post started off with some realistic trades (albiet ones I would not want the Rockets to do) and was responded to by lots of ridiculous ones. Sure 3 great stars sounds better than 2, BUT IT WON'T HAPPEN. New Jersey just lost Richard Jefferson for an indefinite amount of time. Why would they just give Kidd away? We'd have to send T-Mac or Yao to get him and I would NEVER do that. Someone said what we need is someone like Blake from Denver. Now that I agree with. Blake is a true point guard who can hit an outside shot. I'd love to get someone like Blake, but I don't think its something we can do during the season. I'm not a big fan of Steve Francis, but I think if New York buys out his contract, he's still our best bet for improving our point guard position. And then next year we need to look to draft a good point guard or try to pick one up in free agency...I'd love to get Billups here, but that's not going to happen. Anyway, in the mean time...I say we try to get Francis...or maybe work on a Atkins trade, but I don't know what we'd have to offer Memphis to get him (and no I don't think we should trade Bonzi - we're going to need him in the playoffs)
Blake is really impressive, and I think he might be a JVG type of player. With MELO back does Denver need Blake or could we pick him up with our TE?
