I forgot to mention one area too.

    11. Red Rowdies - I Love the atmosphere they are creating in the Toy Box, and I love that they are going to away games in San Antonio and Dallas.

    I always love passionate fans.

I love how, without Yao and T-mac, we gave the Suns a real run for their money on the second night of a back-to-back... I am reminded of this because the Suns have just put an ass-whooping on the Garnett-less Wolves.

You know if I spent the earlier part of this season arguing that Rafer was a good shooter I'd run and hide from any further discussion of him.

I love that we can look forward to this team putting it all together and making a stretch run, like so many championship teams in many sports have done recently before winning it all.

Yao coming back, Bonzi getting in shape and being the 6th man/Vinnie we all hope he can be, and Juwan/Deke continuing this play when their PT is decreased b/c of Yao.

And I love Clutch the Bear coming up behind me (3 feet above) to scare the shat out of me at a game and give me a high five. And the air-filled Clutch is always hilarious (if he's still around)

    DD,

Couple of hours ago I was in the office rolling a cig and happened to log on as I normally do when get behind my desk. I saw this title and yelled to my wife, "hey babe, listen to this title, What is RIGHT with the Rockets thread!"

As if talking to the basketball gods, she says, "thank you!"

I went back to my book, finished it and thought I'd come in here to read what everbody wrote. I just now realize is was from you.

Now I will say to you, Thank You.

    RR

Oh...I forgot, I LOVE MY ROCKETS! I think JVG is grand and was sorely needed after Rudy. I love the guys and I love our defense...well, most of the time.

what a f*cking joke. I'm sorry DD, but I'm calling you out on this one - it doesn't get any more toolish than this.

you've been b****ing about everything on this team from JVG to VSpan, to letting go of Boki, to calling McGrady soft, to the biggest joke of all - saying they have no heart, and when you get called out on it you turn around and make a "positive" thread to draw even more attention to yourself and smear it in everyone's faces. Give me a break - your fickle antics are the equivalent of those of a pre-pubescent schoolgirl and they're growing tiresome. I'm sorry for the harshness but that really needed to be said.

Cabbage, I am sorry you are taking it that way.

I have read all the threads and the criticisms and listened to what people were saying.

And, I did not want people to think that I was really down on the Rockets, but that there is a lot I like about this team.

Which ironically is why I get so worked up about them. I think this is the best team we have had in years, and therefore I expect much more out of them.

And, when playoff time comes, I think we need to have home court advantage to have a real shot at coming together as a team. As there are not a lot of battle hardened playoff veterans on the Rockets roster.

This thread is not meant to mock anyone or anything, it is meant to talk about the good things that are RIGHT about the Rockets...and also to show posters here that some of us are not all about the negative.

I will still be critical of the team, when I see something I don't like but there is so much that I do like and I realized I was not posted about that....so....

Again, I am sorry you misinterpeted the post.

    DD

well, you gotta love our defense.
lowest opponent points per game, lowest opponent points per possession, lowest opponent fg%.
now if only we could develop Vspan or get Francis back...

What I love about the Rockets:

    1. They ROCCKKKKK!!!!!!

    2. They make me wake up at 5 in the morning that I can catch the end bit of games.

    3. The defense the entire team shows is absolutely amazing! 62 point from Charlotte! Kobe might as well have defeated them singlehandedly!

    4. T-Mac looks like his Orlando self, and the good thing is that his back has only flared once so far this season.

    5. The Evolution of Yao continues, until Tim Thomas decides to break Yao's bone.

    6. The Rockets introduced me to the wider world of basketball (especially fantasy basketball :D )

    I LOVE THE ROCKETS!

I could list a million things I like the Rockets this year! :D A better question would be "What's not to like about the Rockets," then again....that wouldn't be a very positive thread and there's already numerous posts like that....most coming from you DD! (just kidding... ;) )

My favorite things about my team:

#1) Yao Ming- Classy, dominant, special-my favorite Rocket

#2) Tracy- All the things with Yao above with the secret weapon- he fears no one or any team

#3) TEam defense - will shut down any team

#4) Battier- a very strong player- our enforcer if you will-grease for the big machine

#5) Bonzi - in the Denver game he was dominating the glass at 6' 5" for a time in that game- rebounding, scoring- he can really be something for us

#6) Dikembe- the man is giving it his all-nothing held back-he is a force

#7) For me - coming to terms with Van Gundy- I do not hate the man- I support him as coach-this is my team and he is part of it

I won't ruin DD's thread like you have by getting into this. All I'll say is I stand by everything I said. Here's another positive for DD:

Rafer is, despite being in a slump, shooting 4% better from 3-pt range than last season.

Another positive from this season is how JVG came out and defended Rafer as THE PG on this team. We all know that JVG is defense-first... So we can conclude that JVG is happy with Rafer's defense or he'd be clamouring for a trade, and he's shooting a decent (not great) % from 3-pt range, and he's always been a good passer. Hey, that's good enough for me. Just get him a backup so he can improve his efficiency by staying fresh.

It is enjoyable to watch a team that obviously likes playing together; they seem to geniunely care about each other. Team chemistry is not that common in the NBA, and the Rockets are a refreshing departure from the typical "egofest." The fact they play hard and are seldom blown out make them a fun team to watch. Whether or not they go all the way, they are still an entertaining team.

Oh and thank the Red Rowdies. Or should I thank JVG? Who do I thank for that?

I thank myself for being so awesome.

    "Alston is a . . . good shooter" - Ehsan

    :D

He's currently 124th out of 124 guards in FG% among qualified players.

I agree with all positive posts made so far.

I'll just add, with all the injures this year (awfully close to last year), we are on pace to win around 50 games.

I mean, that's amazing when you talk about who's been able to play and who hasn't. Tracy out some games, Yao out, Bonzi not really getting much time (but getting more), Snyder's injury. This team is hanging tough, and putting the league on notice. We may not have beaten the Mavs or Suns in the last few games, but those games sure as hell weren't "gimme's" for them.

I'm proud of our team, and support them win or lose, playing well or playing crappy. I'm ready for them to make some noise come playoff-time.
