I've been seeing in some threads, posts saying Yao probably won't be back until late March? When did that happen? I though it was early to mid-March? Isn't he suppose to get activated for full practice around All Star break?>>

I PRAY NOT!!! that is way tooo deep into the season and also he does have enough time to get his game back before the playoffs.

Yao cannot go into the playoffs trying to gather himself ...that would just mean a first round exit

    I wouldn't be surprised.

The guy broke his leg, right near his knee joint.

THat's a SERIOUS injury. People who thought he would be back in six weeks were dreaming.

Last thing I read in the Chronicle was that he would be cleared for on-the-court WORKOUTS (this is not the same thing as practice) after the All Star break. At best, that puts him back at practice within 2 weeks and back on the floor within 3-4 (or mid-March).

The doctor in chicago (remember Yao went to visit the doctor while rockets played the bulls) said it would take 8 weeks after his injury before he could practice on court. It means Yao would be clear to practice around all-star break, I think it will take a few weeks before Yao fully recovers to his game shape, which means some time around mid march.

I think we will see a few games losing streak as Yao is getting back to form in real games and his teammates re-adjust to him. JVG won't bench Yao even if he got 10 TOs in a game because he knows Yao needs real game experience to get back to game shape and the system, plus Yao is not VSpan. ;)

To be honest, we need Yao's early comeback. Tmac is not in good shape, we can see that.
But we do not want to risk Yao's future.
I am also a soccer fan, doctors use oxygen camp to speed up soccer players' fractures (for World Cup, expecially), it is a proved technique. Yao is a soccer fan too, i guess he knows that.

two weeks before playoffs is enough time to get match fit. i don't want yao making an early return.

The problem is not TMac. Instead, I think Deke is going to run out of gas soon...
