If Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming ever get to play together, then the Rockets will be the one low-seeded team that nobody will want to face. With an abundance of both inside and outside scoring, and with Jeff Van Gundy's habitual emphasis on defense, Houston's most significant flaw will be the poor judgment routinely exhibited by Rafer Alston.

If posted, do apologize, didn't see anything of it.

I think it was posted in another thread, but hey, guess it deserves it's own thread.

It's always great to listen to Charley Rosen take unsubstantiated shots at 90% of the league. Just sucks when he does an article about your team.

Man, Rafer can't catch a break. You wouldn't expect anything less from Rosen. He's an eternal griper

Rafer is actaully the Rocket I am most proud of. He has come a long way and shown the most improvement out of any Rocket.

Shooting comes and goes. Understanding the game and your demeanor is what makes you a good point guard.

I don't want to sound cocky and say that I know a lot about basketball, but most posters' judgement of players is 70% based on shooting

That's what I couldn't understand about Tmac's criticism earlier in the year.

I actually think he was playing better right before Yao went out. He's just shooting better now and has a more prominent role due to Yao being out. That's it.

His best games came with yao in the lineup, agaisnt the Bobcats and Wizards on the road and against the Warriors at home.
Now he's nothing more than a bigger Allen Iverson.

What makes him great in my opinion is his vision.

Having one of his worst years shooting as well as only a 2:1 assist to TO ratio, not to mention taking ill advised shots, and you want to call him the most improved rocket?

sorry but im taking yao on this one....or even luther

Chronicles said Alston is the only PG that the Rockets need, but majority of guys in the forum is blasting Alston for shooting first before passing that ball. I think we are up to challenge when both Yao and Tmac play side by side. ALston better get his rithym, JL3 has to be contributing and last VSpan got to get his game going.

    I pity you.

We are what we repeatedly do. Ergo, Rafer sucks. SUCKS.

The lakers arent an A team anymore. they are far too inconsistent to be an A team. plus there talent level is way overrtated. kobe bryant is noyt the same player anymore. he has lost a step and he's defense has sufferd greatly.

He's right that the offense must revolve around tracy in the last quarters. he is our real game breaker. when he gets in the Zone, there is no stopping him. just ask the mavs or the jazz or the bulls and so on.

macfan, do you still believe this? Can't you plainly see that Rafer is cratering right before our eyes? Rafer is just not mentally fit to be PG on a very good team. His poor judgement, poor shot selection and tendency to make very bad late game decisions is rearing it's ugly head again, just like last season. How can you be proud of the player with the worst FG% in the NBA? I agree it's not all about shooting but Rafer's play is just pathetic and indefensible. He needs a psychologist.

A trade for another PG will happen.
