Jeff or anyone else that might have some expertise. I want to start my own website and put MP3 samples of my electronic music on there. My buddy has some website development knowledge, but isn't sure about the MP3 part. Would this be something I can put together from home? What kind of costs am I looking at? Thanks
You can actually take a cheap way out and do this for free. Sign up for one of those free hosts, such as tripod, geocities, etc. Then, you can just upload your samples onto the server and link them from your page.
The best way to do this if you don't have much web knowledge, IMO, is to go through MP3.com. Their professional membership is less than $20 per month and it is a great way to show off your stuff and earn some $$$ in the process. I would look into that or garageband.com or iuma.com before trying it on your own.
