'Cause a lot of 'em do steroids and get into drug and alcohol abuse. The steroid thing may have changed recently (maybe not) but it was obviously going down in th 80's. Then they beat the crap out of their bodies a couple of times a week in a fake sport for entertainment puposes. I don't know anything about Bam Bam's personal life but it's never surprising to hear of a pro wrestler dieing young.

I don't recall him, of course my prime WWF watching days were 1982-1987 so I think he came a lil after that time period

Big Boss Man, British Bulldog, Bam Bam Bigelow, Eddie Guerrero. Man, I can't believe how many of them die so young.

When you said "old school" I thought you meant "old school," not yesterday...

Bigelow had some personal struggles in life in his final years. He had a motorcycle accident sometime last year or the year before in which the girl riding with him was seriously injured. My guess is suicide, unfortunately.

Somehow, I can't picture Bam Bam doing steroids. Aren't they supposed to make you buff? Bigelow was a ******.

Roids affect all people differently.. if you're a skinny little dude, roids arent going to get you shredded like someone else who's body has the capacity to grow as much.

Bam bam had a ton of muscle under that fat.. roids dont burn fat, either.

sad news indeed, when i got into wrestling, he was in his prime as a heel, then with the Million Dollar Team with Ted Dibiase, then the infamous bout with Lawrence Taylor. Didnt follow him much in ECW and by the time he was with WCW he was damaged goods, wasn't he part of the Triple Threat in ECW? With Shane Douglas, Chris Cadido? Wow, Cadido just passed away last year I believe?

Does anybody remember those big ass (well compared to the ones today) WWF "action" figures back in the 80s that were just big pieces of rubber with no moving parts? I remember I would always beg my dad to get me one of those when we'd go to the toy store. I remember I had a Bam Bam Bigelow figure, hell, it might still be in a box somewhere. I also had Jesse "The Body" Ventura, George "The Animal" Steele, and a few others. Bam Bam is a part of my childhood...sad to see him go.
