i'd take it. tmac can't be counted on. he is day-to-day, everyday. he is only getting worse, and it's because of TMAC that we have a 3 year windor for a ring. with RJ we would be looking at 5-7 year window. it's a step back talent wise, but it will give us a great chance of winning the whole thing.
When I started the thread, I was thinking the Nets would have a high lottery pick. Let's re-phrase it. Wouldja trade T-MaC for a solid starter and a top 5 pick in next year's draft?
no f'ing way. jefferson is 2 or 3 levels below t-mac on a good day. who knows if tracy will play a full season again but i'd take a 50% t-mac and his playmaking ability over jefferson easily.
Wow I just checked Tmac's salaries. He makes a lot less than I thought he did, for this year at least. But his contract soars into the $20mill's the upcoming years. As someone said before, RJ is a Jason Kidd creation. He's good, but he makes only $5 million less than Tmac and is nowhere near Tmac's talent level. I would trade Tmac for Carter, however. If Carter sucks we can always let him go and that frees up $15million in cap for free agents. Carter is soft, but then again so is Tmac. They're both inconsistent at times and can dominate at others. They both can be unselfish to a fult. Carter's skill level is below Tmac's, but he's healthier. So it's basically a fair exchange. Now the questions is, why would NJ want to make this deal? The answer is: I don't know, why don't you ask them.
It might be more sensible for the long run but we have a realistic shot to contend this year if everybody can get healthy. We all saw that LOOK in T-Mac's eyes during the Mavs game. It's the same "You Can't Stop Me!" look he had in the playoffs two years ago and it's great to see that again. He's hungry -- I love it, and the scary part is Yao was in the midst of an MVP caliber season before he went down. If we can get everybody healthy great things could happen -- a trade of this magnitude risks destroying everything.
How long is Carter signed? If he is a free agent I would do this in a second. With 15m + sura, bonzi, and others cap space we could replace T-Mac with a long-term solution.
HELL NO. RJ is not half the player Tmac is... Rj is also injury Prone... PLUS, the NJ pick isnt going to get us Durant or anyone in top 5, so it isn't worth it. I hate this kind of thread, seriously.
No chance. I wouldnt shop tmac at all but if we were looking to trade him, I would expect a player like Luol Deng plus the bulls 1st round pick which they will swap with the Knicks this year.
If you hate it, just leave it. This reminds me of all the old bitty's griping about all the violence and sex on TV. If you don't like it change the channel, nobody's making you watch.
[attempt to derail]No, you never know what gay players are going to do to the locker room chemistry.[/attempt to derail]
RJ? I dont know if you see nets this year, or maybe you are a nets fan, RJ=over the hill this year. Never in a million year.
No. Two reasons: 1. Richard Jefferson isn't exactly the most durable player in the league himself. 2. I'm not convinced that RJ would be anywhere near as effective without Jason Kidd.
