Knowing it's not a realistic trade, but just for conversation: TMAC for Richard Jefferson and the Nets number 1 in next year's strong draft. I'd do it, because of TMAC's back and the longer we hang on to him the less we will get.
Before this year I would not even consider it, and it would still be tough, but you have to wonder how long Tmac can play with his back, and can he really be counted on? DD
The first round pick would be in the 13 to 15 neighborhood, right? No, I don't think I'd remotely consider it.
Can we somehow get JJ Reddick? DD PS...I wanted Shane Battier his rookie year ......just wait a couple of years.....
To get the bottom position in that division is really really hard. And it could be a possibility JVG will trade that pick(even it's Durant) for some veteran help.
RJ is a very good player but the (Brooklyn) Nets already have problems with their salary cap (which might change if VC leaves next year). I'd trade TMac for the right combination of players and picks. Your scenario isn't that right combination. (And I don't know what is.)
I feel like the bottom of a dirty shoe for saying it, but I would. McGrady's fantastic and is a guy I really like, but I simply do not believe that his back will do anything but continue to get worse with time. The stretches out will get bigger and stretches between episodes will get shorter. Ultimately, do I think McGrady and Yao, with no ifs about health, will bring us a championship? No. I believe they have it in them to do so, but I just can't see a season where they both stay healthy for the duration. Yao is untouchable, considering his value to the franchise. Jefferson's 26 and his numbers are down only because things are no longer harmonious in the swamp. Of course, they're not shopping him. Evan
We should use Tmac to trade for RJ and 1 pick, then use RJ and that pick to get Eddie Griffin, lol. JUst kidding
