Now this kind of post stuns me. Think a little bit before you type. Not a single player in the NBA want to injure himself, even T. Allen with his stupid dunk. Injuries in most case are accidental, in other words, non-predictable. And Yao has himself to blame because he works too hard?! And he shouldn't be prepared to block/rebound every ball? Yeah right, since he rebounds 13 already he should give up the rest to prevent from injury...Your mind must be somehow twisted.
Of course she wouldn't. If you asked her and praised her playing, I guess she would take a photo with you. Would you take a photo with a stranger, because he/she thinks your wife is famous?
Just read my post through before rsponsing my post. My whole point is Yao should figure out how to avoid the injures. His staying on the floor is the most important thing for Rox, not for more blocks, more rebounds. Rebonds and blocks are the things that can be the problems if you do not know how to do it correctly. Last year he got the injure for a rebound in a meanless game, this year he was trying to block the ball far from him in the traffic and got the injure. This kind of injures really is bad for the team. If you do not what I am talking, then stop response me. Still stuns you?
I like Deke very much, he is much better rebounder than Yao, Yao should learn more from Deke. My whole point is Yao has too many injures in this two years regardless what condtions, it is a concern.
yao's recent injury and prior to that, against utah last season..was purely based on accidents, its inevitable. its not like he's running then he breaks his ankle by just ...running
You are making no sense. Nobody can avoid injury in any sports. Injury is part of the game. Players can get injured by landing on the floor awkwardly or going up for uncontested dunks (see Tony Allen). You just have to deal with it when it happens.
You will never understand what I am talking about. Not every body gets equal injures in NBA, Deke got few injures in 12 year, Camby got injures every year. Nobody can avoid injury? KM in Utah missed one game in 10 years. By playing smartly, you can reduce injures significantly, It is not always true for the rule "you just have to deal with it when it happen" If Yao gets another major injure within years, let see what people are going to say.
Nobody wants get a injure on the purpose, of couse, they were accidents. It is inevitable? may be for Yao, not for Deke, Do you think Yao has more those accidents than Deke in Rox?
I think you're asking for a little too much. Yao's injury was a freak accident. When you are 7'6, and asked to be the focal of both your offense and defense, you will get contact, which will inevitably lead to injuries. Deke is a purely defensive player and KM played a face up game towards the twilight years of his career - those two things allow a player to be more durable. Some are luckier than others. I don't know of any the current crop of players that is over 7 ft that keeps themselves in better shape than Yao does or works as hard. To say that your best player - who also happens to be the most hard working team orientated player - should be ashamed himself is pure blasphemy. Either you are using the wrong words to convey your message or just plain right wrong. To deliberately avoid injury means you are not putting your best efforts out there and sacrificing your body for the sake of the team. As much as I like dislike Zo, he exemplifes what I am trying to say.
A good point, My main point is that Yao should not ashamed himself for the team record without him because Deke is playing well, then he becomes uneasy somehow he thinks he needs do better on the rebound or block, I think he needs think more about reducing his injures (besides pure accidents). All others become irrelvent if he can not be on the floor.
Latest update from Wang Meng....... So should Yao Ming go to Las Vegas just to show up at the NBAAll Stars ??
JVG on Yao Ming: "I am still not really sure whether Yao Ming was still self-doubting. If he thinks we are playing better without him, then definitely it is not so wise of him to think so. " That is what I was talking about in my previous post about Yao. I do not know why Yao can think something like that. I would like to think about more about how ro avoid the injures even if I get less blocks or what ever or think something else. As the winning records without Yao, first, Deke and Howard can replace some works that Yao had done on the floor, second, the some weak teams. Why did we lose more games without TMac? because nobody can replace the jobs that were done by TMac. Yao's team is too much one diemissional with Rafer, TMac's team is more balance with Deke, and Howard, but Yao and TMac's team are much balance.
Are you done with all your weird theory that Yao Ming should think of stopping to rebound and block just to avoid injury ?? Yao Ming kept puzzled why the team was doing better without him, cos it is in his blood and nature that he ever seeks to improve. He thought there must be things that he is not doing as good as Deke Mutombo. As his injuries were freaking accidents. PERIOD. If you play basketball or any contact sports yourself, you'll know such accidents happened. If Yao Ming had to ponder every time whether he should fight for position to grab a rebound or block a shot so as to avoid injuries, then what do you get in him?? A hesitant and timid centre that often missed rebounding and blocks, and got owned by his opponents in defense ??
