It's really a bizarre case. It's recently getting a lot of attention locally. Here's the gist of it: Joshua Bush and two others tried to rob a used-car lot in Port Arthur. The owner showed up and tried to stop it. At some point, a gun was fired and part of the bullet lodged in Bush's forehead. The robbery victim claimed that Bush shot at him first, he fired back at Bush and the others in protection, but did not hit him. He says that the bullet fragment will be from a gun to which Bush had access. Bush originally claimed that he wasn't there, later admitted his presence, but still denies that he ever fired a gun. His lawyer hasn't made any claims, but has suggested that the bullet fragment is from the business owner's gun. Bush is already facing several charges for the robbery, but the prosecutor would add attempted murder to that if the bullet matches Bush's gun. It is possible that if the bullet matches the business owner's gun, charges might be brought against him, although his self-defense case seems pretty solid. A judge has issued a warrant to remove the bullet, but Bush (and his parents) has refused comply. The police have brought him to two different doctors, but both refused to remove the bullet. He wants some kind of plea bargain before the bullet is removed, where the court would agree to not pursue the attempted murder charge. Bush's lawyer is arguing that forcing him to remove the bullet violates his civil rights. Today, he posted $125,000 bond, which seems a lot more in line with an attempted murder than a robbery. Also, both the prosecution and defense has changed their story several times. The most common story in the press is that Bush claims to have not been there and the bullet fragment was from an unrelated drive-by shooting. My summary is what was just reported on a local radio station.
I posted a thread about this in the Hangout a while back. It got no responses. It is indeed a very interesting case with a very interesting set of circumstances, though.
Does the fragment cause him to have an inflated ego and make irrational decisions on a historic level?
If what bush is saying is true it would make no sence for him not to have the bullet removed because it would prove the owner fired at him? so in other words Bush is not telling the truth (go figure)
I don't know that it's not. The fact that the story has changed so many times makes me think that Bush is lying. But the testimony of the lot owner (which hasn't been especially reliable) is the only evidence for attempted murder. It'd be really hard to convict on that alone.

They say that they think they can get a conviction of attempted murder without it.
