I like how the homer suns writer brought up the fact that the rockets have a good record without yao this year, but neglected to mention the fact that the suns didn't meet a beat last year and went to the wcf without amare all year.

Amare is Highlights!! Fine. He's an All-Star. Fine!! He is a good player. Fine!!

Back when he was drafted 7 other teams passed on him as well. Phoenix got lucky, as a lot of other team get lucky. Karl Malone, Johns Stockton, Steve Nash, all were drafted after the 10th pick. His running mate Shawn Marion got drafted 9th as well.

What do the Phoenix and the Rest of the NBA want? What's going to make them feel better?

Are people in Basketball hating on Yao because he is winning while not playing like an athletic juggernaut? Because he was trined in China? Or because he is Chineese? Or because Houston got him instead of New York or Golden State?

Are the pro NBA talent evaluators still pissed because they got it wrong? I vividly remember half the NBA saying that Houston was stupid for passing on Jay Williams.

Well, that would have been the only way to have messed up that draft. That or picking any of the other 7 guys that was between Yao and Amare!!!

Phoenix, just be happy you got Amare, stop hatin'. You aren't L.A. the NBA world doesn't revolve around you. It happen, good NBA players slide on the the draft chart all of the time.

Stoudomire lucked out too. Where would he be withouth Steve Nash? Look at Diaw, he was playing like an All Star last year. What was he doing the year before with the Hawks?

Other than making posters(which is still 2pts), name one thing that Amare does better than Yao. Pass, shoot, block, rebound, box out, contest shots, post-up. Last time I checked, Yao was better at all of them.

I am getting so sick of people talking about athletes and teams getting "the swagger back." Has the word confidence left the English language? Is there no other phrase these people can use?

Amare is with Nash, the MVP of this league, Nash makes all his teammates much better by creating opportunities for them. But Yao creats opportunities all by himself after Rafer passing the ball to him.
T-Mac is becoming a better ball passer, we Yao and T-Mac are both in good condition, Yao is definitely much better than Amare.
Without Nash, Amare is nobody, but Yao is always good.

knowing what we know now, i'd draft Yao over Amare in a heartbeat. Not only Yao is the better player, but also Amare has that bad injury that may come back to haunt him throughout the years.

Amare seems to have recovered well from the injury while Yao also has had his string of injuries. And having seen how dominant Amare was 2 years ago, more impressive than Yao of this season imo, I don't know... I do know that if you got Nash, you go with Amare. He runs with Nash much better than Yao.

LOL 1 word to that article: BULL****

"Yao is out with a broken right tibia, which could make Stoudemire the West All-Stars' top center" got this point thou, amare is the wests top center only when Yao is out rofl sry dude this is gonna be his first and last time he starts for west all star as long as yao is playing the game of basketball. Even this year Yao's number of vote gotten after he's injuried is even more than what amare got total

I watched SUNS several games this year and I am really NOT impressed with AMARE's play at all. What does he have? DUNK and OPEN JUMPERS. This guy can not create his own shots at all! Ball in NASH's hand all the time and MARION doing all the dirty job. I would take MARION over AMARE any time. Does AMARE make his teammates better? Man,this is not even a question.

the article owns itself, it clearly says that amare is only considered 2 b a candidate 4 best center because yao is injured... yao is way better than amare plus he's much less of a prick!!!

Amare couldn't carry Yao's jock without Nash.

This is the only part of the article that upsets me. The Arizona writer can speculate all he likes, and try to make whatever argument he likes (no matter how false) about Amare being better than Yao, but to imply that 'we' Rockets fans are envious of Amare is presumptuous of him.

Amare is a very good player, but the only thing Amare has over Yao is the ability to be on the court now. Come March he won't even have that.

It seems like a pretty convoluted article to me. He brings up Amare's career 38% shooting against the Rockets, and acknowledges that head-to-head stats with Yao aren't favorable, yet believes the Rockets would prefer Amare?

Yao over Amare any day!!!!!! Amare can't do anything without nash let alone put up numbers as we all witnessed!!!

Yao can put HUGE numbers consistantly with or without tmac as we all witnessed!!!

The only reason Rockets win more with tmac playing even if he's not putting up numbers is because he is the glue that hold the team together, by being in the game he gives our role players the confidenence to win, it's all pyschological rockets winning with tmac's presence and of course its what tmac brings also but I'm talk about when tmac is having an off night and we still win we all saw that so many times but rockets lose most of the games without his presense. Thats why I think the amount of times Rockets lost without tmac is far greater than without yao presence.
