Apparently, the remaining contestants were grudingly told about the bombings, but they haven't seen pictures or video. The only reason they were told is that one of them has a family member missing. There are some things a tad bit more important than a TV show. http://www.nydailynews.com/2001-09-14/New_York_Now/Television/a-125195.asp Like a sequestered jury, the three remaining contestants on "Big Brother 2" have been isolated from news reports and do not know the extent of the damage inflicted on New York in the wake of Tuesday's air attack at the World Trade Center. But the last three houseguests on the CBS show — Monica Bailey, Nicole Nilson and Will Kirby — did receive some sketchy details of the tragedy this week, despite game rules that are designed to keep them isolated. Monica Bailey (top row, second from l.), one of three remaining 'Big Brother 2' contestants, has a cousin who is among the missing in the World Trade Center attack. A decision was made at CBS to ease the restrictions after executives discovered that Bailey's cousin Tamitha Freeman was among the missing at the downtown site. Sources told the Daily News that the three contestants might still know nothing about the tragedy but that pressure was put on CBS by some of Bailey's family members, who felt Monica needed to know about her cousin. "Big Brother" rep Diane Ekeblad conceded that the three housemates do not know the full horror of Tuesday's attack because they've seen no television or newspaper photos. "Without the pictures," Ekeblad said, "there is no way they could comprehend what has happened." "Big Brother 2" had been scheduled to crown a winner and end its season Sept. 20. But that no longer can happen. Tuesday's episode was canceled because of the terrorist attacks, along with last night's show. According to Ekeblad, CBS has not yet decided on new air dates for either of these episodes or for the finale.
And a lot more important than a sucky-ass TV show. I mean ****, she has someone missing and they're worried about the integrity of a sorry-ass show. Come on.
in a way I envy them for not being able to see those images. i guess ignorance truly is bliss. maybe CBS will have Survivor 4 in Kabul
It seems like some things, such as a national disaster, should trancend the silly TV show rules. If nothing else, don't the contestants have a right to know their lives are in a certain amount of danger? Not that anyone is going to specifically target the CBS production lot (and even Bin Laden knows there are more effective ways of gaining attention than harming the cast of this show), but Los Angeles in general is a potential terrorist target. I wonder what the people in the house are thinking. They have to know it is serious by the delay in the schedule. Seems kind of unfair to leave the poor people in there until Christmas, or whenever they decide to have the finale. (Of course, I'm not curious enough to actually watch the show... )
I think they should just end the show on schedule, and air the episodes later. Only the 3 remaining contestants would know who won and they would have to keep quiet to keep their money.
There is a 2 hour show Tomorrow Night and they will probably show the winner show on thursday , Big Brother just sucks anyways . I cant wait until I get my Dish .
this is sick! I never watched the show.. but these people are that sheltered? SICK! CBS should cancel that show and let these people realize what has happened. It's not like they are on a deserted island, they're in LA! and it's freakin tv show! rH
