I don't think this has anything to do with Sura. Good to see the loyalty here regarding him, but he's done.

Rybo: Well, re-signing him didn't cost us (meaning our team) anything. I'll give "credit" to JVG on this one: It was a nice gesture with Alexander's money.

I thinks it's likely another cut is coming and it won't be Sura - but something's in the works. It may be we see another player from another team we have our eye on, or possibly a trade (which I don't see out there).

But Jacobsen being cut does make me think Bonzi might be more secure here than most think.

Exactly same as what I thought. And don't be too excited of Sura, I think he will retire soon because of medical reason. Please remember that JVG said he only want 13-14 players on the roster into the regular season. Yes it's bad to have 3 healthy players in the injured/inactive list.

Honestly? It wouldn't have been that bad to have an extra-scrappy, long, body out there to rotate to their open men. He was also a serviceable rebounder when needed.

But, I'm not going to say much more... lets just get Bonzi and Snyder back to make us all forget that we're actually missing Ryan Bowen.

I wonder what he's doing now. Anyone have an update? He'd do a better job than Sura as of this moment. That's for sure.

I don't think he'll get picked up again. He's probably as good as retired in Iowa.

If Battier was on tonight, this thread would've never brought back to life. We thought Battier would be able to shut down Dirk. Isn't that one of the main reasons we traded for him? We have 2 more chances...

I'm not complaining at all. Just Bowen would have more use than Sura.

I don't think anyone really believed battier can shut down dirk. Dirk lit up battier in the playoffs last year.

What is wrong with you people? We complained for months about Ryan Bowen and prayed that he'd get cut.

And one mavs loss, and we're somehow wanting him back? Did all of you forget last season entirely?

Well, I don't miss Rybo at all, but docgundy has a point, any player who can contribute any is more useful than Sura.

And I'm sure that I read somewhere that we got Battier to shut down Dirk. It was pretty much word for word. I need to find it.

I don't really care about the game. If it showed me anything, it's that the Mavs should be worried. Minus Bonzi, we whooped them by 30. Minus Yao, they beat us by 10 and it was only decided late in the game.

If Mac can't be stopped and we know they can't stop Yao, how are the Mavs going to stop anything we do?

We've shown we can stop everyone, even Dirk. Or have you all forgotten the way we locked him down in the playoffs a couple of seasons ago? To lock someone down for an entire series is significant.

I'm not worried about the Mavs. If healthy, we'll take them with or without homecourt advantage.

It's the Suns that we need to figure out. We need a defensive, disruptive PG to beat the Suns. Ironically, I think Marcus Banks would be excellent. The fact that he'd know their plays is an added bonus.

Rybo would have helped? It would just mean more doubling on tmac and a more miserable offense. On the defensive side it could help a little but TMac wouldnt even be guaranteed 30 if Rybo was in teh game.

I'd give at least as much credit to McGrady, and especially Van Gundy. But, I don't know if we can lock down the Nowitzki of today just because we did it 2 years ago. He's an even better player now on an even better team.
