I've had "diverticular disease", although it was never referred to quite that way by my doctor. Haven't had any problems with it for years. I think it's unusual to have as serious a condition as Castro allegedly has. His age could have a lot to do with it, but wouldn't this condition be monitored and treated for years for this head of state? Regardless of what one thinks of Cuba's medical system, Castro should have been getting fine care. I'm leaning towards the idea that he has The Big C, myself. As for visiting Cuba, hell yes. I wish we could. Allowed to, I wouldn't hesitate.
Cuba doesn't stamp US passports and hasn't for many years because they want US tourist dollars. If you wait until Castro dies to visit Cuba, there will be McDonalds or a Dominos on every corner by the time you get there.
i guess all those Cubans in Miami decided to go on boats to leave Cuba cause they wanted to meet Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas. I guess all those baseball defectors decided to leave cause living in poverty sucks when Alex Rodriguez makes 250mill.
Actually you can't. Mexico and Canada travel agencies will turn you down when the find out you're an American. It's against U.S. law for us to visit Cuba and you'll be fined and subject to imprisonment.
An aunt of mine died from a ruptured blood vessel in her intestines related to diverticulitis. She basically bled to death into her intestines, and projectile vomited a large amount of that blood while dying. Not a pretty way to go. From what I understand the diverticula tend to be surrounded by blood vessel and (sometimes severe) intestinal bleeding is not uncommon as the divirticulum stretches those vessel, especially in older people. I believe that the disease is most common in people over fifty, and the disease can cause severe weakness.
Oh, it's dangerous. No doubt about it. I passed out at work from internal bleeding, and discovered what caused it at the hospital. And I was in my 20's, not at all the usual age for that sort of thing. My surprise is that he wasn't monitored closely enough to prevent his problems, if that's what his problem is. And as you're probably trying to point out, it can become dangerous, monitored or not. D&D. Global Warming is On Vacation.
Unlikely. Anyone who thinks Cuba is going to turn into Cabo the day after is just not paying attention. Post-Castro Cuba is going to be a bear of a problem politically, economically, socially, and diplomatically for the US and inevitably, this administration will screw it up. Oh, and Raul is still there.
