There is a rumor they are reporting from NY about the possiblities of Jkidd being available and possible destination is Houston??? Did anybody else catch that? I just about wet my pants when I heard that...
This has gone around before. He would a good PG for our team but the reality is he is he is past his prime and his salary is way to high for us to absorb.
Jason Kidd in a wheelchair would be better than Rafer. Surely he's making the max. I don't think we could take on that kind of contract. How many years till it's up?
yeah ok, we'd have to give them t-mac to make it work. Jason Kidd 2006/07 - $18,084,000 2007/08 - $19,728,000 2008/09 - $21,372,000
i mean i'm sure we could get a package of players together, i doubt NJ accepts what we have to offer, a combo, of Jho, Sura, aloston, draft picks etc. but i dont see them taking it
True- I don't know how accurate ESPN's trade machine is but http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=429~11~351~825&teams=10~17~17~17 i sent alston, jho and sura for kidd and it worked.
JKidd would not be a good fit for us. We need a scorer or shooter not a distributor. Maybe if JKidd is bought out and we get him cheap, then I give it my ok
I agree with you on the high salary, but on the prime...14.0/8.4/9.4 and 7 triple double allready is not past the prime in my books.
Jason Kidd is a great player. Not only would we have to give up pretty much our entire team outside of Tmac and Yao to get him, but NJ wouldn't go for it and we can't afford to do it anyway. Besides, as great as JKidd is I don't think that our team, as constructed, NEEDS a Jason Kidd on a max salary. Tmac's been a great playmaker. The ball's going to be in his hands 90% of the time, so what's Kidd's role going to be? A young Derek Fisher would be a better fit next to Tmac/Yao than Jason Kidd at this age.
It may work on paper, but walk in New Jersey's shoes. They could easily get a player they need (PF or C) rather than any of our players that you mentioned. Dreamcasting is nice, though.
which is exactly what i said, thanks for saying it again. Technically we could make a trade happen, but there is no way NJ takes what we got. That being said, the deal will not happen because we nix the trade talks, simply we dont have the pieces to really get the conversation started.
My apologies, I was really replying to someone else (King of 40 Acres) and got your quote instead. My old age is creeping up on me.
THAT WAS NOT THE RUMOR, THERE IS A RUMOR THAT KIDD IS ON THE TRADING BLOCK BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOUSTON The threadstarter misunderstood the conversation. Don't want this thread to get out of hand
I agree, I agree. We don't need a distributor for our main offensive weapon, yao and tmac. for yao, he needs to be in position to get the ball ( not moving for he can hardly catch it) and tmac can make his way to the basket from outside. what we need though is penetrator/slasher like Snyder. if this happens, i just hope it's not Head. they can ship Span and Novak but no Battier, Head, Tmac and Yao. Of course if they get kidd, Rafer would be part of the deal, in which i don't have a problem.
