This post might be a little long so bare with me.

Man I am frustrated. On my laptop I have like 3500 songs in my itunes library (only 120 are purchased from itunes). All of my other songs were downloaded on Limewire into a big music folder which was WMP based. This folder is a total mess and very unorganized. I cut and pasted these songs into my laptop itunes account and took literally hours editing the song name, artist, album and genre fields as well as creating folders to get my library just like I like it.

    Now comes the problem.

I just bought a Desktop PC and downloaded itunes with the thought of syncing my ipod and creating the exact same library I spent so many hours perfecting which I have on my laptop. When I tried to sync my ipod with my desktop it said that my ipod could only be synced with 1 library at a time. The only thing I could do was transfer the purchased songs over into my new desktop library. I know I could cut and paste the original WMP disorganized music folder into my new itunes account but just thinking about organizing all of those songs again makes me sick. The question is how can I get my other 3350 songs organized just like I like into my desktop itunes library account?

I have thought about doing that, too. My work computer (which is a laptop) has my complete library of iTunes songs on it; however, the computer at home doesn't have anything. Part of my problem is that I moved this past summer and I didn't feel like messing with hooking all that stuff up again. Also, I trashed my computer to use my wife's instead.

I think what I would do if I was you is get an external hard drive. Use a program like real player and put all your songs on the external hard drive. You should be able to load and run iTunes on your home computer - you just have to go through all the hookups and connections. However, this may not work for you - good luck on however you do it.

    Or go the reverse.

Install the software at the link and you can take songs directly from your ipod and put them on your desktop PC.

One note of caution though, it's tempting to tell it to move all the songs at once, but if you do that, it'll skip some songs by mistake. So I would go album by album although that is time consuming

Man, last year I unknowingly moved all 8500 of my songs into different folders (reorganizing). They all wouldn't open. I had to find and open each separate song. what a pain in the ass.
