The main difference between Dirk and T-mac when it comes to this move is style. Dirk does it soley for the free throws, he doesnt even try to make the shot, he just jumps into you then falls down and makes a mad face like someone just flagarant fouled him. In other words. PANSY. T-Mac hits you, maintains balance, and then drains the shot or comes close, T-Mac wants to basically bust it in your face and give you a foul to add insult to injury.
Wow. There is a slippery slope of subjectivity when we're distinguishing why it's okay for one player to do it but not okay for another player to do it based SOLELY on what we THINK their intentions are. Look, MANY players do it. Heck, Kevin Martin of Sacramento jumped DIRECTLY into Mutombo last night and they still called Deke with the foul -- which even made some of the Kings fans comment on how ludicrous that "foul" was. We may not like it, but it happens. Would we gripe if Reggie Miller (who defined the art of drawing contact with his FOOT before he flopped to the floor) had been a Rocket? Would we really care this much if Manu was our shooting guard? What about D-Wade? Maybe some of us would. But I bet many of us would conveniently justify why our player's, umm, "techniques" are just a "part of the game", etc...
