A healthy Bonzi is a potent weapon on the offensive end for stretches of games. I can't say the same about Nazi...plus Nazi's skills are duplicated by other players on the team.

I like Nazr a lot. But we simply dont need him. Either pursue Maggette or keep Wells. This guy was dropping 30 on the Spurs all playoffs long last year... Some of yall have forgotten. He just needs time to get into shape.

No thanks, Deke is playing well and we don't need another center. the only thing we would want is a pg and i doubt we can get billups.

Assuming Bonzi's recent injury is legit (and all indications it was), he could still be the piece to push us over the top in the west.

We already have Yao and Deke so why do we need a 3rd center?

We only need Bonzi for 4 good games against SA in the WCF

I'm nowhere near advocating making a deal for Mohammed or Davis, but you can't be serious.

Having another big body to play the center position is invaluable, especially for the playoffs.

You want me to give you some more reasons why the Rockets desperetly need another guy to play center?

    - Yao coming back from a knee injury that will have set him back for a couple of months.

    - Deke's age and below average speed and agility.

    - Even with Yao and Deke, the Rockets have to be one of the smallest front courts in the league.

    - Hayes lack of size and constant foul trouble.

Sure, you can say Yao is a good healer and should be back in his MVP form once he is back or that Deke has turned back the clock and is playing unbelievable this season. But, you can't automatically assume these things will happen. You can't predict any other injuries, or how Deke will be able to sustain this level for the rest of the season, how Yao will fare making his comeback or even if Hayes can learn how to stop fouling so much (or the refs will stop having a dead eye for him).

This team NEEDS another big man to help out if the situation is called upon. Dallas has Mbenga, Miami has Doleac, San Antonio has Butler. All the elite teams have one knowing it is imperative for the stretch run and playoffs. The Rockets need to follow suit.

Hey Joe, Bonzi+Juwon+Sura for Billups+Mohammed. you get two Great Reunions - Bonzi+Rasheed, Webber+Howard. You get rid of Mohamed's contract, save money with Sura. You are telling me that's not worth giving up on.. uh... only the toughest winner among PGs in the league..... are you sure? OK, OK, you have it your way, we are throwing in Novak? What, still not good? Padget? V-Span?

Sorry...my response was incomplete...I meant we do we need a third center at the expense of giving up Bonzi Wells.

I agree completely that we need another big...my fault.

I wouldn't even touch trading Bonzi with Detroit unless Billups or Prince is involved. Since they won't be, this is all silly to talk about.

Dale Davis is worthless at this point and Nazr Mohammed, while being a serviceable big man who could help this team, has a bad contract.

We need to preserve what little flexibility in terms of salary and we shouldn't waste it on someone like Nazr Mohammed in exchange for a guy like Bonzi Wells.

i have no interest in davis or nazi. i like bonzi but i'd be willing to trade him for a need only, such as a good pg. both of those guys could be useful but we're not desperate for a center even when yao's out. they might not even play when he comes back.

    How bout we send:

Alston, Sura, Snyder, Bonzi, Novak, VSpan, Lucas,Howard, Padgett and a few first round picks...

    for:

Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Wallace, Mohammed, Hunter, Delfino, Murray, Maxiell
and a few second round picks...

    Then we can start

    Billups
    Hamilton
    TMac
    Wallace
    Yao

    and back them up w/

    Hunter
    Battier
    Prince
    Mohammed
    Deke

    sounds like a plan? :p

Dale is redundant, Nazr is a bad contract. Unless they throw in a 2007 1st round pick I just don't see why.

Bonzi means W's against the Spurs. None of those other guys will give the same.

Aghhhhh! Funny you mention Prince, you hit a nerve... it brings back bad memories... Years ago we could have had Prince, I was his biggest fan, unfortunately CD decided to go with a handsome, yet useless dude that this board inexplicably fell in love with...

On the chronicle website it says Bonzi visited the same guy Tracy McGrady visited.

All I'm going to say is you're going to be eating a lot of crow come May and June. If you didn't get the memo, Bonzi saw John Patterson, and now he says he feels great and could possibly play in the Denver game. And yes, he is a Spurs killer.

I gotta go with keeping Bonzi here for a year. He came cheap and you really can't argue with that.

But dang, I sure wish he had been playing all this time so we could make a better judgement.

Rockets are crazy if they do this. They just need to get bonzi to his potential and you got an almost defenite championship team if everybody else is healthy. If the pistons wanna trade tell them its only possible if they give rasheed wallace or billups and maybe hamilton
