All they said is that the Pistons are interested in Wells. Nothing David Aldridge said actually had anything to do with what the Rockets front office was thinking. It was all in the Pistons' perspective. My post was more of a response to the posters in favor of trading Bonzi.

Bonzi is better than all of the 'expendable' players Detroit has to offer, the only deal I would agree to is Flip Murray + another role player, preferably Nazr. This way we got a solid backup at PG and C.

Of course, this wouldn't be worth it for Detroit.

Also, I doubt Detroit would trade away Nazr, he's been filling their center position quite adequately

Really hope no deal is made. Especially not for Nazr or Dale. I understand people's thoughts of trading Bonzi with the little we've seen him play, but I'm still confident he'll show his value this season, and I don't want to see that happen in another uniform. With us in "Win-Now" mode, Bonzi is a keeper.

It will be a dumb ass thing to trade Bonzi. If we have to I am sure Bonzi+ sura can get us a lot more.

Now we are talking! I'm down! ;) With Billups, the NBA might as well mail us the trophy, save other teams the pain.

I'd do it if the Pistons throw Carlos Delfino into the mix. He's a terrific all-around big guard to come off the bench. The guy's huge for a shooting guard, kind of like Paul Pierce. He's an accurate 3pt shooter, good defender, and a great rebounder, so basically an improved version of Bonzi Wells minus the attitude. McDyess is cool also.

Kirk Snyder + Bob Sura + Bonzi Wells for McDyess + Delfino.

For someone who gets trashed on this board as much as Bonzi Wells, it sure is odd everyone is screaming to not trade him. At this point I would like to hang on to him. The only thing I would consider that is somewhat possible is if Detroit was willing to part with both Delfino and Maxiel, or trade their #1 pick next year. Both very unlikely though.

Definite no to a deal with Flip Murray involved cuz he is just another small guard and we have three of those already. Definite no to Dale Davis, I dont see how that helps us at all. There will be no minutes for him when Yao gets back. Nazr is okay, but I dont think he is worth the MLE he signed for last year, and with how Deke is playing it wouldnt surprise me to see him try to come back again next year so no to that as well.

A healthy Lindsey Hunter would be a great fit, but the guy is 36 going on 50. I haven't seen him this year because he's been hurt, but by the numbers he looks done.

Nazr Mohammed is a pretty decent player in this league, starting quality center. Thankfully, we don't need one, and with the way Deke is playing, we don't need a backup either - especially in the first year of a 5 year, 30 mill deal. If they threw in Maxiell (who I think will become quite the player in this league, ,but I think they really like him) or Delfino, then maybe.

Teams always need centers though, and this could be a reasonable 3-way possibility .

mrmrdan - I like Delfino, but he's not a 3 point shooter. Sub 33% for his career. He's shooting a decent 36% this year, but even 36% isn't that special.

trading bonzi is a good idea if we can get a PG who can shoot.

none of the players that the pistons will offer will help us out any, so maybe a 3-team deal would be needed.

i wouldn't rule out a 3-team deal. big guys like nazr and mcdyess would draw a lot of interest around the league, so would a big guy on an ending contract like davis.

Bonzi for maurice williams would be my dream outcome. i love maurice williams game. sadly he plays for the bucks and the bucks have no interest in Bonzi.

The thing about Bonzi is he still has a huge upside for us. Come playoff time, if he's still here, he wont cause a fuss and the worst will be behind us. For what he's making, I don't mind how he's performed so far. Maybe he's a Dukebag, but he can still make an impact when we'll need it. Just forget about him for now. Pretend he's our 12th man.

A report like this shows us how silly most rumors are. Fans in Detroit are probably salivating but the average Rockets fan would (and did) roll their eyes. Why on earth would we do this, and for Dale Davis of all people. He was an alright role player like 10 years ago. He's like Deke but without the ability to play basketball at an advanced age.

    hold onto BONZI...

with all the "character" guys on this team, i actually like that we have one crazy @sshole.

he like brings balance to the force or something... and in a strange way keeps the rest of our lockeroom reminded of what NOT TO DO.

    KEEP BONZI

I think you guys are way overvaluing Bonzi Wells. The dude hasn't barely played at all the entire season. He is clearly a headache - when you have problems on every team you play on, you're the problem, not the team or the coach.

Who has the option on Bonzi's contract? Him, or the team? In either case, I think he opts out.

The Rockets are not going to get much out of Bonzi this year. He is not a "Spur killer"...he's not even a freaking player on this team.

Nazi is a solid backup center in this league. MAYBE....MAYBE you could get a little bit more for Bonzi....but not much. The biggest question on Nazi is the salary. First year of a decently big contract. But 7.5 points, 5.6 boards, 1.1 blocks, 57% shooting in 19 mpg is very very respectable big man play in today's league, for a backup.

I'd probably say no to this deal because of the contract. And like all of you, I'd prefer Maxiell to Mohammed. Though I think JVG would disagree.

But for everyone saying no to the trade, what do you honestly think Bonzi could get you in return? And what so far has made you really believe he'll ever be a productive member of this team?

Say NO to the junk offers from the Pistons. No need for Flip Murray, Nazr, and the aged Dale Davis,or for Delfino/Hunter. I like McDyess but we need Bonzi more than him. Keep Bonzi CD.
