Mutombo is way too good to retire, glad he continued to play for us. 19 rebounds, 5 blocks, 47 years old. Damn.
and the most amazing thing for deke... when all is said and done, basketball isn't even his most amazing accomplishment in life... i'm sure every city has player's who give to the community (biggio, bagwell, warren moon) - but houston has had likely one of greatest alltime athletes when it comes to giving of himself.... Congrats Deke...
hats off to deke for all he has done for the world and to this team and i remember A LOT of you guys not wanting him 2 seasons ago in that trade with chicago claiming that he had nothing to contribute to the team.
Now I don't need keep telling people not to trade Deke. It's a shame his name was mentioned in some trade posts. Either he plays several more years for Rox, or he retires after this season. We shall show him our respect.
Was Kareem in house tonite? He is always little arrogant, probably wont give Deke any props. Curious what he has to say. Now, Deke is my man. Yao can back him up. 19rebs 5 blocks, are you kidding me.
The didn't count blocks for the first two season Kareem was in the league. Kareem would be very close to Dreams record if they did. Kareem has more blocks than Mutumbo and is the all time leading scorer of the NBA with 6 rings I think. I don't think Kareem really cares.
I know, I know, the minny anouncers mentioned that zillion times. Let's just conviniently forget about that fact. Everything has to be on the record. Too bad for Kareem, but lets not spoil the party for Deke.
When was the last time in NBA history that one single team got 2 of the top 5 centers in the league? Yao is #1 offensive center and Sir Deke is the #1 defensive center. Ben what?
Congrats, Deke! Deke is the best, at the fine age of 90, is still better than 90% of the centers in the league.
