judging from the pictures it looks like cingular. If they have the exclusive, that's going to be huge for them.
I'm not a fan of having a Swiss-Army cell phone, but in this case Apple may pull off a solid UI that makes it seemless. I'll wait until people actually get a hands-on experience to see if they've done it, but it looks promising. Unfortunately I'm not leaving Verizon until someone else can come close in their service, sorry Cingular.
Yes the iPhone has the wow factor and is without doubt the center of attention to the keynote session today. People who are willing to fork out the $$$$ to get in front of the current technological trend should wait for further reviews before they indulge themselves into iPhone fantasies
That thing is cool looking but I'm a cave man and would probably only use about 1/5th of the features on it
Just like with games, I'll wait for the launch phase to pass - particularly at that price - but the tech certainly seems very impressive. And the price really isn't surprising when it comes to PDA/Smartphones.
I was the first on my block with an ipod and I'll be the first on my block with an iphone. My contract is up with Verizion in May and I've been wanting to switch to Cingular for a long time. {Note- I'm a life long MacAddict, there really is no hope for me... now Mr. Jobs how long until you launch the iWife so I can get rid of my old wife }

w-o-w. Those technologies were waiting to be merged - Apple was not even that quick to it - but finally finally finally something that does not donkey around with phone functionality, music, web, etc. As ususal, Apple knows that the devil is in the transition points between the usages, not the depth of each usage. The seamlessness is where the juice is. Email to pics to phone to web to maps to news to camera to email to web to phone... its like it is one function. The coup de grace is actually something old - OS X. It is perfect for this - the web / phone interface looks perfect, and the iPod is almost an afterthought. Who would have thought that a fully functional wide screen iPod would be an add-on? Take me now.
i don't really want an ipod phone but if they make a 30gb version of just the ipod part i'll be all over it. that looks totally bad-ass. edit: nevermind i just went through those demos, that phone is ridiculous. i'm not going to get one cause i have t-mobile and it's too expensive, but i definitely WANT one.
Apple is like Bose, they don't make the best stuff, they just market the hell out of it and charge more. It won't be long till there are a dozen other phones just like this one...this phone is for early-adapters, which is fine - I am excited seeing where the tech is headed though, I for one, welcome our new phone/mp3/movie/tv/games/nav thingy overlords.
