    Hakeem's philosphy was pretty simple... go for the block of EVERYTHING that comes near the basket.

    Most of the time, NBA players on defense (when they actually play defense) are simply worried about their own man too much... and either don't make enough of an effort to play help D, or don't get their fast enough when they mean to.

    Hakeem combined his great speed, and fast leaping ability, along with the consistent willingness to play help defense. Not everybody has the first two, but if you commit to the third... you'll get your fair share of blocks.
