Wells to miss more time; Snyder working way backESPN.com news services

Bonzi Wells, who has missed the past four Rockets games with a sore lower back, is scheduled to receive a second injection of anti-inflammatories Monday and will be out at least another seven to 10 days after that.

The time away could potentially force Wells to miss his 11th straight game.

The injury-laden Rockets, still battling without the help of Yao Ming in the paint, cleared guard Kirk Snyder on Friday from a broken wrist. But Snyder will have another wait before he sees the court.

Snyder, who said he is having trouble holding on to the ball, was happy to have even taken Friday's step.

"I just want to go through warmups," Snyder said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "It's been a long time since I've been on the court. I haven't had an opportunity to compete. The guys have been playing, so we haven't had a lot of opportunity to compete. That's going to be the big question mark, when contact starts."

Didnt see it posted, if it been posted...then you can lock it.

WTH is up with BONZI ??????

Snyder part was posted before but I hadn't seen the news about Bonzi yet. Its looking more and more like we'll just have to get by for now and try to make a strong, post-All Star, run.

I'm beginning to doubt how effective he will be this season, playoffs included. If he doesn't return soon enough he will never get his timing and endurance completely back by the postseason.

Bonzi can and will be important come playoff time, his punch off the bench will be much needed against the likes of phoenix and Dallas. I'm hoping Snyder can come back fit and be the energy guy he was at the start of the year.

Great news. 610 has been running something similar for the better part of the afternoon. However they didn't get into when a return to could be but I thought after the injections that he had Monday It'd take seven to ten days?

The Sportsflash did say that he was already feeling better after the Patterson meeting.

According to the Chronicle, Bonzi did not have the injection, but opted to see the back specialist first.

I think this time around, Bonzi's injury is legit and he'll come back in time and be a solid contributor to our team. He'll be a key piece in our playoff run.

The Waco solution: Bonzi sees the "healing specialist"

About the time Tracy McGrady topped 30 for the sixth consecutive game, maybe earlier, Bonzi Wells decided he and his sore back needed whatever it was that Tracy McGrady found in Waco.

On Tuesday, he got it, and the Rockets could get Wells back from his sore lower back much earlier than expected.

He did not have the scheduled anti-inflammatory shot on Monday, instead joining McGrady on Tuesday for a trip to McGrady's Waco rehabilitation therapist John Patterson.

"It's feeling better, a lot better," Wells said. "I went to the doctor (Tuesday) with Mac. Mac took me to his healing specialist. He did wonders for me. I feel great. They were talking like I would need shots or surgery. He (Patterson) got me back in line, popped me back in place and did everything that can prevent me from having to go to surgery. He did a great job. Hopefully, it's going to take for me.

"He told me to wait 24 to 48 hours to know everything is right, back in line. I feel excellent. But I'm going to listen and hopefully (Thursday) or the next day I'll be back on the court and do some things."

Good news for Bonzi! I hope to see him back soon. ... and shame on you Bonzi haters out there for doubting that he was faking to get time off. The man is fighting for a big contract this year... Why would he fake an injury ?

    Any news on Snyder ?

Hopefully Bonzi will be back this Friday and Kirk should be good to go at anytime. The Rockets are getting healthy and hopefully they will stay that way.
