McGrady and Juwon need to take every single shot in the 4th. I can't believe I am saying this, but as bad as we played offensively, the Bulls played worse through 3 quarters. What's keeping us in the game is rebounding...we're doing a GREAT job on the boards, thanks mostly to Mutombo and the fact that his mere presence in the paint prevents opponents from not only scoring in the paint, but also from getting many second chance opportunities.
Chances are his eFG% wont be higher than ALston despite alston being horrible AND chances are his turnovers will be higher along with his fouls. Spanoulis has played and just becuase his minutes werent all at the point doesnt mean they are not an accurate indication or reflection of his play. The only difference in this system is when he plays along head at the two or along head/t-mac at the 1 is who brings the ball up and initiate the offense. The simple fact of the matter is he cant shoot, so teams will leave him open just as they are leaving Alston open. What room will he have to penetrate when the opponnents sagg off him and give him the long jump shot?
Just returned home: Has Luther scored a three; how many points does T-Mc have, and how badly is Rafer sucking? Oops -- 1 of 12 -- Rafer is sucking again.
Look like the joints are loosening up in the 3rd. Alston did have a couple of good play in the 3rd, but he is not good finisher. We have a hope.
Props to the Coach, to replace Deke by Hayes. He grabbed an offensive rebound followed by a 2pt layup. Most importantly, we didn't trail after 3 quarters! Deke is so great in rebounding but I think Hayes is better at grabbing the offensive rebounds for us.
I will give credit to Rafer for continuing to bring it, defensively... against tougher matchups in Gordon and Hinrich. That's the only thing good I can say.
