rockets off to a cold start. they look like they aren't very sluggish from yesterday's game wich is good though.
and it's still a close game. that's a good thing, because law of averages would have shane hit about 2 of them before the game is done.
After yesterday's overtime game, JVG's going have to manage his starters' minutes wisely so that they have enough for the second half. Also IMO, he should try putting in Novak again to see if he's learned anything from yesterday.
McGrady got to the basket three times but couldn't finish, at least one of which was a definite foul. Alston is the same story as last. Battier had three wide open shots but didn't make them. Howard is the only guy hitting. The guys are playing hard, but they look tired/somewhat flat-footed. So far, we haven't gone to our bench at all, yet the Bulls have already substituted for three of their starters. Our guys look tired, I don't think we're going to make many jumpers today, and it's difficult penetrating against the Bulls because their guards are terrific at limiting penetration (this is probably why Wade -- the best penetrating guard in the league -- always struggles against the Bulls). Not looking good...JVG will have to go deep into his bench and give those younger legs a chance to show us something.
first quarter in the books... both teams played below thier usual level of play. however, the rockets played a little lower than the bulls and thus i expect to see them bounce back by half time. 16 points? ugh.
hahahahaha Alston is straight comedy did anyone notice Span being a little more 'happy' at the bench he might have talked to Gundy, lol
Rafer has missed 20 shots in a row dating back to yesterday. Maybe it's time for JVG to bench him for a while.
