Here is what HP said ... "point is: our defense not only beats the opponent of the day, but other teams have video of it and apply it. SA is losing because of the tape that JVG provided to the rest of the league." Is there anyway we can gang up and pressure HP to prove this or at least get him to throw us a bone or two ... who's with me?
You lost me. Can you elaborate? Was HP saying that JVG's immitation of SA provide the rest of league a chance to learn more about that style, or JVG *actually* assisted the rest of league on how to beat SA.
Sound to me like someone is claiming that after Houston blew out the Spurs (without TMac and with Yao playing limited minutes), teams adopted JVG's strategies and now the Spurs aren't winning. I have no idea if this is true or not, perhaps someone else will analyze the stats to see if there is any merit to this argument.
Well, the Spurs were 20-6 heading into the game against the Rox and are only 4-4 since that game. That doesn't necessarily prove that JVG provided the book on how to beat the Spurs defensively, especially considering that in half of those losses the Spurs have scored above their season average (only being held below their average in 3 of the 8 games since losing to Houston on Dec. 22 winning one of those). I give HeyP the benefit of the doubt that he has seen something that JVG did against the Spurs that has since been copied by other teams though.
knowing that this absolutley point less thread has been bashed, and serves no purpose... it will probably locked and forgotten... my question- what does "in before the lock" mean? significance???
Wait teams are beating the Spurs? So when I see them with the top 3 best record in the West, my mind is playing with me? Lol, I guess JVG showed the league how to play defense on memphis, atlanta, and many other teams...
