I was pissed when I saw Natalie Cole was the best R&B act they could get, then I scrolled down and saw Beyonce. That's pretty strong.

So...the "rock" acts are Los Lonely Boys, Sheryl Crow, and ZZ Top?

Once again, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to attend the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

When they booked Bob Dylan in 2002, I thought there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I couldn't have been more dead wrong. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is in serious, desperate need of new talent bookers. This talent lineup is pathetic.

I thought the best year recently was Def Leppard and Duran Duran. I saw both concerts and they were both really good.

I wonder if some acts out there don't realize how big of an event this really is? Or maybe HLSR doesn't pay well enough.

That's way better than the Northeast Arkansas Rodeo lineup we have every year. :D

I'm pretty sure George Strait, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and Beyonce aren't working for peanuts. Hell, I'm sure ZZ Top still commands a high six figure appearance fee. Just because the music lineup doesn't suit your taste doesn't mean the Houston Rodeo is cheap.

Nobody said they were cheap. They just never take a chance, that's all.

Straight, Walker, Jackson, Keith and Brooks an Dunn are classic acts but not enough. Pat Green still draws a good crowd and Beyonce and ZZ Top are nice local acts.

Still missing some good country acts and still no rowdy Rock night

Faos just said "maybe they don't pay well enough", which is not true. Taking a chance and paying top dollar for musical acts are two different things.

Let's face it, the Rodeo is here to make money, and they do that by signing musical acts that they think will get the most fans. Sure, the Cheetah Girls don't exactly appeal to most people on this board, but I can guarantee you there will be 70,000 screaming teenage girls at that show. I'm sure people here would LOVE to see Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Rammstein at the Rodeo, but unless there is a demand for it, it's not going to happen.

    Where's the Police reunion!! :D

My girlfriends Dad has a luxury box for any night he wants. Man, I'm not sure if there's an act this year that I'd like to see even if it's from a luxury box. No Earth Wind and Fire (again)? You used to be able to count on Black Heritage Day to bring in a good act. Natalie Cole doesn't do anything for me and I've never heard of KEM.

    Yup.

On my way to purchase six tickets for Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana.

Could Disney send Vanessa Hudgens instead?
