    So Dwayne Wade's back,

he shot 17 free throws tonight, 10 more than the entire portland team. Miami also won by 3 points. For some reason every time i read about his play i cant help but think that the NBA is on his side and wants Miami to win.

Can you imagine being an opposing team and just knowing that the game has already been decided? The question i have is, does he put up all these great numbers because defenders know they cant touch the air around him? Think about it, that allows him to finish around the basket easier, hes less pressured around the arc. Im im guarding wade i try my best to keep a distance, but then you hear a whistle anyways so what can you even do?

I see nash and i see nash using screens very efficiently, i see him trying to avoid contact making great acrobatic shots, side steps and what not. i respect that. then i flip the channel and i see wade throw himself into traffic and thump his chest with his fist cause he got the call and boasts.

hes quickly becoming my most dis-liked player

Wade always took it strong to the basket early in his career. And if anyone is going to be getting those type of calls, it's wade. I think he's earned it.

You need to spend your time hating Rafer Alston like everyone else around here.

Yeah superstar treatment always sucks since Yao Ming doesn't get any.

You can say Wade has deserved it but if you take a step back and look at that statement it sums up entirely what is wrong with the NBA's officiating.

The NBA is difficult to officiate because of the speed of the game but some of the superstar treatment is ridiculous.

Honestly, Wade has this one spin move where he can get from the FT line to the basket around 2 defenders. It's so blatantly traveling, it's not even an extra half step they'll give the superstars, it's like an extra 2. It's so annoying, and it is also compounded by the fact once he's done traveling he gets the call at the hoop.

Imagine if Yao Ming got all the calls he deserved PLUS a few extra for superstar treatment...

A game where he goes the line 17 times would be an off game.

That Wade spin always has me falling out of my seat. I remember when he pulled it on KG, and took 6 steps (the wolves announcers took special care to count them in the replay, multiple times) and got the and-1. It was completely absurd. The real kicker is the next time down the floor KG pulls the same exact thing and no call again.

Wade is fast. He's going to get his foul shots.

well true, he may get a few calls now and he certainly got a few calls during the finals, but you can't say thats his stigma- drawing fouls.

if the rockets had anyone who go to the line as many times as dwade (cough, yao) we'd exploit the other teams and make sure they dont hack away. which...we did.

im not gonna say ALOT of fans have said this, but ppl hate on tmac for his lil pump fake at the three he was always drawing up earlier this year. no one was complaining about that right?

...oh thats right, we were complaining about him MISSING those FT's.

dwayde draws lots of fouls. he's aggressive. our main guy (yao) was 5th in the nba at one point at FTAs. no need to hate on dwade!

earn what? unfair officiating? it should be equal for john lucas III coming off the deep end of the bench as for wade. how do you EARN calls.

that completely defies the definitition of officiating. why not just let wades mom blow the whistles.

Note to other NBA players: Attack the basket and you will get calls.

Seriously, this guy attacks the basket more than anyone since Jordan in his early years. Some of the calls he gets are BS but when a guy forces the action like that the refs, being only human, are going to start giving him the benefit of the doubt. Honestly, I have more of a problem with the calls Dirk has benefited from in his career. Wade attacks the basket with the idea of finishing the play. Dirk has always stumbled into the lane, flipped his head back and then cried for the foul (and he usually gets it). At least Wade looks like he wasn't about to trip over his own feet had the whistle not been blown.

I like Wade a lot, but he gets way too many calls. The same way Jordan got too much preferential treatment. Wade actually seems to even have it better than Jordan. It would make sense though. Wade like Jordan is very well spoken, clean cut and a winner.

That's bullcrap, more than half the time T-Mac attacks the basket, he doesn't get the calls. It's partially because of his size too, 6'8 compared to a 6'3 Wade, so he actually has to make it look like he got fouled unlike Wade who just flies around and gets a call. And, LeBron gets calls because he's supposed to be the "next MJ," but not like Wade.

Mercifully, although wade gets all these BS calls, he's not going anywhere fast wth an aging shaq tying up every possible piece of cap space.

I wish Rafer would attack the basket instead of avoiding the contact...maybe then his shooting percentages would go up.

wade gets calls. not his fault tho.. and if u question whether hed have these numbers if he didnt get the calls... look at his rookie year. he's a leader, and took that team on his back into the playoffs. hes a amazing player without the refs help

Tmac doesn't attack the basket near as often as Wade. Some nights, Tmac attacks often. Many nights, he does not attack at all. You have to set a tone, a style of play so that the refs start to blow that whistle before the contact is even made. It ain't fair but it works.

Steve Francis did just that and never got the calls that Wade did.

I watched Dw-yane (<-horrible, parents) Wade go to the rack strong in the World Championship games, with international rules, and get the fouls called and go to the line there, too. From that I'm thinking he just has a knack for getting it done. He did one time do the fall to the floor, get up throw the fist, walk toward the line entitled to a call thing which I didnt like too much. But they were behind and no one else on the team was really generating anything.

Corey Maggette's not a super star but he's a guy that annually goes to the line with the best of them so it's probably more on the style of play. So I guess you can say Dwyane Wade plays hard and he plays to win and its just something the rest of the league's gonna have to put up with. They never EVER lessened the respect calls for Karl Malone. Don't think they'll do it with Dwyane Wade either, unless they just change the rules again.

Wade and AI have been the most fearless guys going to the basket over the last few years (BTW AI takes more foul shots per game than Wade does). IMO they deserve the calls, they take beatings. Lebron is close in aggressivenes.

I am much more bothered by the fadaway or flop foul calls Dirk and Manu draw (and to a lesser degree Kobe) get than the fouls when someone like AI and Wade is putting 100% into getting to the hoop.

Tmac doesn't drive near as quick and hard to the hoop as Wade and AI. If you can't see that, I can't help you. But Tmac probably has a better jumper and defintely a weaker back, Tmac shouldn't be regularly attacking the hoop with his body like those guys unless it is the playoff semifinals.
