When ppl see the Laker's win, everyone screams "Kobe". But the best Laker of today's game is Sasha Vujacic - 6/7 shooting, 4/5 3pt for 16 pts. Triangle offense really deserves some credit for the output of the Lakers with the players they have right now.

jason terry got absolutely murdered on a dunk attempt by smush parker. not that i care, since i hate the mavs. but i hate the lakers too.

but it'd be better if the lakers lost since they look more like the team the rockets will be competing with for a playoff spot than the mavericks ( who we probably can't catch up to)

At first I think its a foul. But replay shows its a clean block. Rule says "hand is part of the ball".

well looks like with the new playoff format.. mavs or suns or maybe spurs will be 1 2 and 3.. jazz might sneak in at 3.. if thats the case we want to move ahead of the lakers to get the 6th spot. i think we match up with the jazz the best..

    ...What!?

If you slap down on somebody's hand that's a foul...I saw the replay and he had him on the hand/wrist and then dragged it down.

    Isn't that a foul??

Phil Jackson gets his 900th victory at the expense of the Mavericks. Didn't Jerry Sloan get his 1,000th victory at the expense of the Mavericks?

U can check the replay again. it's clear that Parker slap down and hold down the ball with Terry's right back hand. Terry's on half his way up and holding the ball tightly with both hand. There was no contact of the wrist. AJ didnt scream and u know it's a clean block.

Wow. I've always thought of Phil Jackson as a great coach, and you can really see it this year. I don't think anyone could have predicted the Lakers would be doing this well, with a great record at this point in the season. They've really overachieved so far. It will be very interesting to see how well the Lakers perform down the stretch.

Are there still idiots here who are stuck in 2004 that suggest Kobe is selfish?

He's clearly turned the corner in that regard. Tonight he didn't take any stupid shots in crunch time, which allowed Vujacic to score big buckets in the end.

Some people hate Kobe more than they like themselves.

While I hope the Rockets can get the 5th seed and possible home court advantage, 6th seed doesn't bother me too much. The West top 5 looks like it's going to be Mavs, Suns, Spurs, Jazz, and Lakers not necessarily in that order. Rockets could be battling the T-Wolves, Nuggets, Warriors, Kings, and Clippers for one of the last 3 playoff spots. Hornets would be in the mix too if it weren't for the injuries. I'm pretty sure the Rockets will be 6th or 7th. I don't mind them being 8th, but I'd rather not play the team with the best record in the West. Being 6th or 7th would likely mean a matchup against the Mavs, Spurs, Jazz or Suns, or even the Lakers, but unlikely.

Teams I think the Rockets matchup the best against in the playoffs in order

    1) Spurs: Bruce Bowen is on the decline, Tim Duncan is terrible at the line, and they don't mind slow games. Robert Horry is still a playoff master and they'd still be favored, but I like our chances.

    2) Jazz: They're size can really hurt us, but they don't have strong wing players. Kirilenko shutting down T-Mac is key for them, but Kirilenko is also their best defender for Yao. Again, we'd still be underdogs, but it's not like the Jazz are playoff tested either.

    3) Lakers: Kobe is scary in the playoffs, but their big men are young and untested (Bynum) or tested and failed (stone hands Brown). It should be a great series and it's actually the only team where their PG's are equally bad as ours.

    4) Mavs: They're very versatile. I hate them and I respect them and I don't want to play them. Yao must outrebound Dampier.

    5) Suns: we have very little chance. I hope we don't get them. They're style and skills and talent exploit our biggest flaws.

    Sorry for derailing.

Uh, Mavs suck, glad the streak is over. :)
