I was just watching sportscenter and I saw the story on anthony gonzalez the tight end for ohio state. he was talking about how he stays in a tent around his bed at night that simulates oxygen levels at 8000 feet, about 5% less than at sea level. he said that helped his stamina and brought him to another level. he sounded like our yao who gets tired easily on back to backs before the oxygen tent, but after he said he felt like he could compete at his highest level the day after a game.

just throwing this random suggestion out there. did anyone else see the story?

    meh...details details....

either way the feeling he described pre-oxygen tent sounded like the way yao looks after a tough game...if that makes sense?

Isn't this the same thing that Gilbert Arenas has been doing this season? Everyone's been talking about it, especailly with the way he's playing this year.

Don't a few other athletes do that? I think Terrell Owens and Gilbert Arenas traveled with oxygen tents or something. But I thought they used the tents to recuperate.

Good luck finding an oxygen tent that fits a 7'6" 310 lb guy though.

yeah, i wanted to say Gilbert Arenas does the same thing.

I think TO does something similar, but he sleeps in a bag like that.

Yea, Tito Ortiz from the UFC always trains at high altitude. But then again, he lost to Liddell in the last fight :p

COC's are what Yao needs. They come in 4 models. If you work your way up to no.2 you can crush a soda can (not single handed though). That'll get his turnovers down.

After O2 training, Yao will look like this ugly beast.

His name is Hong Man Choi, 7"3, 360lbs and he fights in K1.

Low level oxygen training, or low-pressure air training....either way has a pretty significant affect on the body, but it has to be done for 3 consecutive months.

You body replaces all of it's red blood cells every three months, so if you simulate a low-level oxygen environment your body respondes by producing more red blood cells.

Do it for three months straight and you body has much more red blood cells, and your blood can carry more oxygen which equals more stamina.
