I'd do it if we could get either one on some kind of grand larceny type of move like we did Snyder. The only man on this roster I would make that trade for is Padgett. Not even Sura.

If we are going to bring in another PG, it has to be someone with size like antonio daniels. It makes it so hard to play any of these two (Rafer, Head, or JL3) at the same time cuz one of them is giving up a ton of size. Nothing changes unless in we add Atkins or Stoudemire. Unless we can bring someone in who is 6'5 or above at the point, then forget it. Just stand pat. We are 20-12 with Tmac and Yao having missed 12 games combined so far, and Tmac missing parts of two or three others. There is no reason to panic and bring in an undersized old, backup PG.

Don't deal with West, he always seems to get the best of it.

I'd like to watch him play not just sit on the bench so trading him is good for him and us.

One of the most ridiculous, overblown ideas.

His team in Memphis is yet to win a playoff game. They went into the toilet went Gasol went down, and haven't exactly torn it up in his return. He traded for Troy Bell in the draft. Traded for Ryan Humphrey in another.

His track record as a GM is that of a good GM. He's not Superman.

1st, I foresee neither as a starter--not replacing Alston, merely as another PG option and veteran depth. That is why it would not cost much to get them. That said..

-We need more 3 point shooting.

-We may need another back-up 1. I would be much more comfortable with Atkins (preference) or even DS for 15-20 minutes of playoff basketball than VS or JL3 this year. I am 99% sure JVG would agree.

Now we could go in the playoffs with Alston and Head for all our 1 minutes. But I have concerns about Head's handle and decisions with the ball under playoff pressure, and of Alston's J collapsing under playoff pressure. I'd be more comfortable with CA or DS in the mix as another option. A 2nd benefit is if you have a need a 3 line up it can be say CA, Head, Tmac, and Battier around Yao.

I can understand hesitency for DS (4 mil year, 3 years left), but it would be a nobrainer to take on Chucky Atkins for a TE. I'd defintely do it adding in JL3, probably for VS or SN instead. We are trying to win now folks, and those other guys are real doubtfull for playoff contributers this year.

I like Atkins, but i just dont see how he can fit tis team. rafer for all hes fault, he is a pretty darn good passer of the rock and can penetrate the opposing teams with ease when he puts hes mind to it. chucky cant do any of those things. hes basically a 2 guard in a point guards body.

anyone who thinks atkins is garbage hasn't seem him play in a long long time.

this guy can STILL light it up. i would definitely trade for him. however, he isn't worth giving up billy. that guy has too much potential.

www.hoopshype.com and http://www.dfw.net/~patricia/index.html are good for salaries. realgm.com is great for nba details/rules (picks owed, CBA) and matching trade checking.

IMO both Chucky and DS are better finishers than Alston. Alston can penetrate, but if you cut off his passing lanes (as good defenses will learn to do) he will have to take a low % shot himself. Both of the above also have more consistent (and playoff tested) Js. I see either one complimenting, not replacing, Rafer.

Damon and Chucky suck balls. Take either or both.

We are thinking it will cost us Hakim Warrick just to get rid of Damon.

Yeah, Warrick has been dying on their depth charts. I acquired him for fantasy a month ago when things were going well, but Warrick has been killing me. He's playing behind Pau Gasol, Stromile Swift, Rudy Gay, and Alexander Johnson now. He's their 5th big man on the depth chart and those guys are usually very expendable.

I might want Warrick and Atkins, but now sure. The Rockets have a terrible time matching up with long and quick fowards (Battier is a great team defender, but is limited in his 1-on-1 defense...Kobe is the ideal size for Battier to guard for smaller and quicker or taller and stronger just abuse Battier). But the Rockets have a terrible time with strong forwards too. I'm not sure the athleticism Warrick brings is enough to make up for his lack of rebounding, and I have no idea about his defense.

While I do agree that Atkins is one of the few attainable PG's out there that would somewhat fit the Rockets (along with Lue and West), I don't think the Rockets are that high on Atkins or are that desperate for another ball handler once the team is healthy. When Rafer is out, T-Mac and Snyder can handle the ball (I think Snyder played PG in college), Luther is the last ball handling resort, oh and there's JL3 too.

DS his last 2 games, talk about efficient....
    ..54minutes 35points 13-18FG 5-63s 4-4FT 3stl 25ast 2.8a/to

Both DS and CA are shooting 36% from 3 land and don't get the open looks Rafer gets (now at 35%). Both of the others are shooting FTs above 84%.

Us and the Heat (in much worse shape than us at PG) should really go after one of these guys for a playoff run. These are usefull playoff role players who will otherwise wither away in Memphis. I think they would also help Alston by lowering his minutes, I'd like to see a close to even split (Head can get his minutes at the 2).
