Bullard will most likely get the starting defensive job on Pippen. How awesome will that be if he lights him up?

Bullard? lighting up Pippen? Would be nice, but I just don't see it. Blazers are coming in with a major 'tude after getting an *ss whooping in Denver last night. Houston's only chance is to run....run...run for 4 quarters. Young legs vs. old. Strange how it used to be the other way around....youth in Portland and Geritol in Houston.

Bullard has several options, if he does end up guarding Pippen:

    1) The Trip Defense. Let Scottie blow by you, try to look surprised, and then kick him in the shin.

    2) The "Nuts!" Defense. When Scottie gets the ball, kick him right in the family jewels.

    3) The Orlando Brown Defense. Named for Cleveland's ref-smacking offensive tackle, this defense is simple. Let Scottie get the ball, place two hands firmly on his chest, and shove. Hard.

    4) The "Sure You Will" Defense. Pippen said he wouldn't aplogize to Charles Barkley, even at gunpoint. Bullard should find out if he really means it.

Really, the only problem with these methods of defense is that the first method will certainly result in Bullard fouling out in the first quarter, and the latter three will result in suspensions.

Aside from that, I'd heartily recommend em.

You may be right greensmurf. I saw him leave the game on Saturday and later heard he injured a knee.

BK -rather than the Orlando Brown defense, how about the Referee Jeff Triplette defense, and just poke him the eye.

I don't know, davo... it probably takes years of practice to hone your aim to Triplette's level.

Of course, Bullard would be significantly closer to Pippen than Triplette was to Brown-- at least, he'll be closer before Scottie blows by him.

    BK,

You forgot to mention the "all lip" defense. During the game, Bullard should start quoting Pip's recent stats, like 4-12 shooting in Denver. Pip will go mental and we all know what that means, 2-12 [IMG]

With Pippen averaging 13.3 PPG (77th in the league, behind Mobey and Harrington among others), I'm sure Bull is quaking in his tennies.

    green smurf,

He's playing tonight. It said so in the Chronicle.

Rudy said the people in the starting linups would be in according to matchups. I'm all for having Shandon starting at the 3, Cat at the 2, and have Bull give us the spark off the bench.

Don't think that's going to happen. That's just who i want in.

Carlos Rogers got hurt in practice, something about his ankle but he said nothing will keep him out of this game. He said he is fine now.

The chron has been wrong before, but since they list him as starter, he will play.

    ds99,
Bull played great defense when Augmon was in for Portland last time. He let Augmon drive past him ever time since Augmon layups are low precentage shots. Augmon's misses sparked a run in the second quarter.

I hope the same thing that happened to Barkley, doesn't happen to Rogers. Barkley played with a sprained muscle and now he's gone. I think Hamilton is going to start at center and Shandon will start at SF.

Doctors have said Barkley's injury had nothing to do with the strain ha carried into the 76ers game.

    Hope the starting line-up is
    Hambone
    Rogers
    Anderson
    Cat
    Saint

There is going to be some speed at centre tonight with Hambone versus Sabonis.

Why are you'all so scared. Pippen didn't blow past anybody when he was with the Rockets. And he hasn't shown much this year either. He sits behind the arc and twiddles his thumbs. Bullard is the perfect person to guard him. He's a Pippen clone, but he's 10 times better at shooting the three. I think Bullard will outscore Pippen. And don't underestimate Bullard. Pippen will be lurking all night...leaving Bullard open. So look for a big game from Bullard if he starts. Maybe 18 points tonight or more. We win this game 103-86.

Matt Bullard shouldn't even play more than 10min tonight.

Whenever Rudy gives Shandon Anderson big minutes at the three(which is rare) he produces. Shandon Anderson should play 38min a game, at the least.

I just have a feeling Rudy T. will go with Matt(don't underestimate) Bullard tonight in the fourth while Anderson and Rogers sit.

This lineup needs to be on the floor as much as possible throught the season....these are are the Rockets big dogs this year.

Francis PG This kid deserves to be out there
    for 40 min a game.
    Mobley SG
    Cato C
    Anderson SF
    Rogers Pf

Bullard is no worse than Walt Williams at defense. Bullard is great at drawing charges, and he even got a block last game. William just hacks at the ball and picks up quick fouls. Carlos Rogers is not great at defense either. He is not quick enough to stop Pippen from driving past him. I would most prefer to see Shandon Anderson guarding Pippen all game long.
