Ever bought something of significant dollar? ...and thought what you could have bought instead....but kept anyway and quite happy now? Recently to add to the gun room collection that I'm putting together, I had to grab a Beretta M9 reproduction last November, ...not just the 92fs, but "M9" with authentic markings as a companion to one of my M4's on display... The pistol is extremely reliable with any 9mm ammo. I have shot about 600 rounds thus far with the various weights including +p...I shoot best with the subsonic 147 grain for some reason.... Well, I'm just so use to single action triggers with the 1911's and Glocks that I forgot how awful the 14 # DA trigger is...! I even owned a 92fs several years ago and traded it in 4 years ago...I commented to a co-worker that I was going to sell it even at a loss, but was told why throw money away...Of course I'm particular on my firearm hobby and when I have this in my mind, I'm willing to sell even at a loss to get "exactly" what I have in mind...It didn't occur to me that beretta offers a trigger job through gunsmithing services in which they cut the trigger pull in half for both DA and SA...1st pull is 7#, and 2nd through last is now 3#...I cannot tell you the difference! Wow! I just got it back and can shoot so much faster and now I can put it in the class with the 1911 and Glock ,...yikes...I know some will say 9mm is not that great, but the accuracy and little recoil is impressive.... Besides my crazy story, what have you remorsed about purchasing, but kept and glad you did?
This isn't my story, but a co worker's. He just landed his first big pay increase by changing from his first job after college to a new company. He was very excited, and he and his wife were still driving the cars they drove in high school. To celebrate he purchased a brand new Lexus for his wife. He said that after he did it, he wished he could take it back and get something less expensive due to them just starting out and wanting to save more. He later was glad he purchased the Lexus, because his wife and kids were driving to see family in West Texas and she had a problem with the car in the middle of nowhere. She called the Lexus helpline and they had a representative from Lubbock drive 2 hours in a loaner with a tow truck behind to tow it to the shop. He traded cars with her, and he road back with the tow to make sure it was taken care of. She went on to her family, stayed a week and she drove the loaner back to Houston where they had delivered the car to the local Lexus dealership. He said that she would never drive anything other than a Lexus after that.
i was got a bj from a hooker for 25 bucks, for a second there i was like, this was so not worth it. About an 2 hours later, I called the girl up again.
