Some of you guys should watch Brokeback Mountain together, get along, just like T-mac and Yao. We are winning, it's the only thing matters.

The real test starts now. After that recent easy stretch of weaker teams ending with Seattle, most of the other games in January are tough. These 4 wins in a row came against 4 losing teams with a current collective record of 43-84. We needed these wins to give a cushion for a tough January schedule.

    New Jersey: 13-18 win-loss record
Atlanta: 9-20 (5-11 on the road)
Memphis: 8-25 (2-16 on the road)
Seattle: 13-21 (4-14 on the road)

Compare those teams with what the Rockets will face the rest of January. Almost a complete opposite in terms of quality of opponents except the last 3 games of the month which are very winnable.

Rocket will never be a great team with only Yao or TMac.

What is the reality? TMac even play better at Magic, then what he got? One season is a 82-game season, not 4 games only.

    this thread is hilarious! :D

so many emotions over simple statements...

for a true Rockets fan, this time of the season is great.. our all star-center is out and we are winning... who is hating on Yao? No one...
we (the true Rockets fans) want the Rockets to succeed, and when Yao went out, people thought the season was over... look how T-Mac has helped turn the season around by kicking it up a notch! why get so defensive and make excuses and justifications why the Rockets have found success? W's baby!

And when the big fella gets back, everything will click after the All-Star break...

    we are winning without yao...
we can win without yao, for now...

    exactly...

no one is hating on yao, we all love the big guy. the point is we can win without right now, and we should be happy about it, because it can only mean that we'll be that much better when he gets back

Stupid thread. Come back to me in 3 weeks after the Rockets experience a 6 game losing streak at the hands of the likes of Spurs, Bulls, Jazz.

I have no confidence in this team (even with Yao) winning a championship this year. However, I am sure that they won't lose six straight against those tough teams. You can book it.

And you are a scumbag to use the racist term again on this board. And the fact that you had to pretend to use it in a light-hearted way once again proves that you are just a coward. Why do you keep trying to stir up tension on this board anyway? Is it your only way to make yourself feel you are more worthy? Or shall we call it inferiority complex? You smell.

TMac carried Magic to the playoff. TMac carried a then borderline all-star Yao to the playoff. With the supporting cast we have now(Wells and Snyder back), TMac can and will carry us to the playoff. To win it all, however, we definitely need Yao at his best.

This game was closer then the previous one with yao instead of tracy. Ahem what?. as for the Record, this team is going nowhere without both tracy and yao.

You know what is hilarious? Some people find any chance to jump out and say TMac is better (leader) than Yao, and prepare the old "I'm a Rockets fans. You're YOF" crap even before other people open their mouth.

Just ask Les or JVG, they'll tell you this team has been, and will be built around Yao. Is it that hard to sorrow as a "Rockets fan"? What's the point of making statement like "we can win without Yao"? Did you ever say "we can win without TMac"? Really, what's your point?

Regarding the "TMac has carried a bad team to play-off". First I wanna say, great achievement. But you know what, Shaq has carried his team to many finals and champianships. Does it mean anything to the team's TODAY and TOMORROW's success? Oh wait, it was Kobe who carried the team, not Shaq. My bad. After all, this is a "guard's league".

Why is this thread still going? Is it really even debatable that we need to be at full strength to be able to win consistently against quality teams in this league?

Everyone is being too sensitive about this for no good reason. We're NOT a good team without both of our stars in the lineup, that much is a given. That's what this team was built around, the system was built around BOTH Yao and McGrady, not one or the other.

It's stupid and ignorant to argue otherwise. You take one out and the team suffers because everyone has to play above and beyond their comfort zones, which is very difficult to do.

Despite our recent success as a team without Yao, this team is still trying to adjust to losing him and the role players are still struggling trying to figure out how much they need to do around McGrady to win games. T-Mac is doing his best, just like Yao did his best when T-Mac wasn't around...give our guys a break, they try their best.

Fair post. TMac coming to Rockets was part of the rebuilding process. After that you can say the team is built around both. I agree with that. After all, neither of them will win anything without each other or the team.

BTW, save that "It's stupid and ignorant to argue otherwise." comment for yourself. Putting insult in just make your arguement weak. Keep in mind, you're also only one of us who chat (argue) here, not anything special.

    I agree.

Have to say: Magic is in the East. Easier to make playoff.
